Why do tool numbers not stay in order on import?

If they aren't in numericsl order they import in order and you have to go thru and renumber your tools

Machine group, tool settings, assign tool numbers sequentially.

I know that setting. It's set in the control default.

 

I'm talking about when you ha e a program where the tools jump around and you drag and drop those operation into another file with a similar part. It resorts the tools in sequential order.

 

Do I have to uncheck that in my active group I'm importing to?

Yes, you can set operations defaults local to the control def file by selecting the control def without going through the machine def.

Before you import them you have to un check assign tool numbers sequentially in the tool page of your group settings.

 

I would be easier if you could do it from the import dialog. But now I know how to make it do what I want
