Arc dimension

Go to the Drafting ribbon bar at the top of screen and find the "Circular" dimension command.  Once you have clicked in a circle you can press "U" or "D" on the keyboard to switch between radius and diameter readouts.  You can do this with Smart Dimension mode too but that requires a bit of practice/instruction to use properly.

Well, funny story about that!  It used to be "R", but the developers decided to reassign R to the "reselect" function in the Circle Centrepoint  command so they switched the radius command to something else.  Then they needed consistancy among similar shortcuts.

Having said that, "R" still works with the circular dimension the first occasion you try to use it but not subsequently... you haven't heard tha from me, right? ;)

great to find some answers here that quick! unfortunately i was searching for the arc-length as dimension. as far as i`m aware, it´s only possible to see the arc-length with the "anaylize" tool. i would like to have the length as real dimension in my drawing...is that possible somehow?

You could measure it with F4 then add it to your drawing with a note

okay, that works as a workaround but at the same time it means that mcam hasn't such a function, right?

Why not? Where´s the problem? Is no one else missing arc-lengths?!?

master cam is for machining, not making prints, program it, and run it!! That arc length that you want to add to the print, What good is it, can some one check it?is it a cam that you need to find the length of? It is 1/2 the circumference of the circle. And please if you are making a print do not put that on it.

Why on earth would you waste your time putting the length of the circumference of the Arc? What purpose does that serve? How does that help in manufacturing the part?

Are you just a student wondering how you can get the output you want in Mastercam's drafting package, or is there a specific purpose behind generating a drafting dimension that contains the arc length? You do realize it is super easy to calculate this yourself, right? Pi * D gives you the full circle. So Pi * R gives you half the circle...

"Maybe" people were just curious as to why you wanted this function because you never answered.
