Adding a tool holder to surfacing operations

Pardon my ignorance but can you please explain this further?

When using the old style surface toolpaths, there is not a method in the parameters for adding a holder to a tool....in the newer tree style parameter dialogs, there is a branch for holder.

As mentioned above, when using the old paths, you can use a drill path, select the too in need of a holder and add it into the drill path..once regenerated, it is also in the surface path, you can then delete the drill path as its purpose has been fulfilled

Is that what you were asking?

Now that sounds like a hack. It's been a while since I used the old toolpaths but can't you use assemblies?

You can if you have saved them...

As the question was asked, I am guessing there wasn't an assembly available.

Hack or whatever you want to call it, it gets the job done.
