Does anybody know of a software that I can import a machine g-code file into for vector and location information that will generate a .dxf file that will run on windows 10?  I have an ancient software from northwood designs (grev5) that works on a windows xp machine but this is highly dated and I'm going to upgrade the computer and need this capability for 5 axis work.  Basically I'm taking points with a 5axis thermwood and then importing this file to convert to a .dxf file and then doing my alignments to the cad models with these points to be able to write a 3d trimming program from.

mastercam used to have a rpost  (reverse post processor) dont know why they dropped it.

I used to enjoy stealing xxxx from old proven code.

Might look at Verisurf and use it to help you best fit the collected points. They can then give you a mapped matrix that you can then use on the machine and have a nice day.

Cimco will not do 5ax -code .....but for what you are doing (aligning) 3ax is enough?

Cimco Pro does offer this once in Backplot there is a button to convert to 3D DXF file.

If you do not have the pro version you can download it from the Cimco site and it will run for 30 days.

I have never noticed that.  Jay, I'd love to see some Cimco editor tips and tricks.  Do you have any videos or links to videos?
