Select an Imperial Tap

The easiest way to do this is to just type in fields below this column what you want. To actually change that that section you need to change your configuration file to imperial. Then it will open the imperial taps file. A much easier way to do this is to go to the standalone tool manager and change that to imperial, as this won't try to adjust everything else to imperial, such as, geometry and other things on screen.

Hi david, in regards to my screen shot, you can set a tool to Inch like i showed in the earlier post, then check out of the tap settigns, then once you go back into that tool through edit tool you will have standard sizes available.

So basically you have to Un-select metric check box that i showed in the image above, check out, then go back into edit tool and you will have all Imperial standard sizes.

I just tested this method and it allows me to select an Imperial standard size when creating a new tap in a Metric environment.

i hope this helps

@JoshC I create a new Tap I deselect metric go back and the drop menu only shows Metric Taps?

Why this did not work is you clicked Back, instead, Click FInish, then go back into the tool settings. Seems like  unchecking metric box only gives standard sizes when you check out and go back into the tool setting for some reason.

David,

This has been a known issue for a while.  It was not logged in our system.  I logged R-18504 and discussed this with the product owner.  It is going to be a fairly large effort to get this done.  It will most likely be done when we overhaul our Tool Manager situation.

I would suggest opening a second Mastercam session and setting the configuration to inch.  Create the tools needed and save them to a tool library.  You can then use these tools in the metric file.
