Read Mazatrol work offset in ISO/EIA subprogram

Recommended Posts

Any advice from a Mazatrol (M plus, 20 years old control) guru is most welcome.

The process is that we use probe to get the initial part zero and this is done in a Mazatrol prog. The Mazatrol prog then calls a sub that is made by Mastercam(tm). The problem is that I am not having much luck figuring out how to read the work offset data from the Mazatrol program at the EIA side. What system parameter(s) are the axis values stored?

(I know you can directly set those values in G54..G59 but that is not a solution here)

Mazak may be able to provide a list of what the work offset parameters were on that conttrol...from there, you should be able to read the parameter

Newer controls are

G54 X#7001 Y#7002 Z#7003

and they index by 20 for each additional offset so G55 would be

G54 X#7021 Y#7022 Z#7023

As long as you don't use a WPC unit in Mazatrol and then do not call any offsets in the EIA sub it will use the WPC for the subprogram.

The only problem I've had with this was restarts.  You can't just restart on the sub you want.  You have to hit a WPC in Mazatrol and then the sub.
