Supressing M03 and Sxxxx when probing

Recommended Posts

A while back I set up custom drill cycles for probing on our Haas machines (worked from generic VF post), but couldn't quite figure out how to suppress spindle on codes without using a MI switch. Is there an easy way to do this? I've worked around it by just setting the probe tool with spindle speed of 0, but there has to be a better way. Still kind of a noob when it comes to post edits, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Still using the standard MP post from mcam.

I set it up like this a while back...

[if not (nextdc$ = 3 | nextdc$ > 7), *speed, *spindle]

so the spindle won't turn on for tapping or any drill cycle over 7, which is where my probing cycles reside.

I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Update - it worked. Thanks again

I made a separate tool change block for the probe and removed the speed call-out.

Also I activate the height offset separate and use the protected POS macro to reach clearance height. I also created a probe flag  so the probe flag, dill cycle and tool number must match.

Then in prapidout I put if next DC greater than # protected position macro to xyz POS.
