Deep hole FINISHING drill cycle

Hello guys,

I need some advice how to solve this. The situation is following: After deep hole drilling with long carbide TSC drill I need to finish my hole with longer HSS drill (on intersecting holes and etc.). When I use standart G83 Cycle it start's on R plane which is retract point, what I need is to start first peck deep in a hole ant retract to R plane (for normal chip removal). How did you guys solved this? Maybe somebody created custom cycle on your control? Now I'm solving this with transforming 3D contour operation (getting the bunch of coordinates for drilling). I would use a point toolpath and the toolpath editor to do this. You can do a custom drill cycle to handle this or Manual Entry and write it out in there.

on our Haas i use ijk , it doesn't start at your depth but it goes down in one peck

i= first peck

j=amount to reduce peck

k=min peck

HAAS also has a setting to retract above the R plane. I think its #52 or 53.  Example: If your retract is set to -4.0 to start in the hole you can set this value to 4.1 and it'll fully retract to clear chips.

I have started just posting a g81 cycle for each "peck" that i need to get to the bottom ,that way(on okumas)it retracts all the way out but starts down deep
