Changes in MasterCAM 2019

Let me start over. I am a MasterCAM beginner. I've had one 8 week course at my trade school, in how to use MasterCAM. I am in no way, an expert. I need to figure this out quickly. I'm not finding videos that are helpful to me. I have very little experience running MasterCAM, and some of these changes are confusing. I was trying to drill a hole, and mill an open slot, starting in that hole, but it won't let me select the center point of the arch that makes up the inside end of the milled slot on my geometry. I have to import files from solidworks, to get the geometry. Should I just redraw it in MasterCAM? I thought I could use the existing geometry from solidworks, but it isn't working out that way.

Thanks in advance
