Error - Auto Orientation Failed - How to Fix?

A popup saying "Error - Auto Orientation Failed" appears whenever I try to change the start point of a contour toolpath.  This only began recently and I have not made any changes to my installation.  Any ideas how to fix this?  MC2019.

I think the only solution is to rechain the contour

Is this on a Solid chain by chance when you see this?

Jason - yes, the error happens only with solid chains.

Just came across this on Google.  I am experiencing the same issue when attempting to change the start point only with solid chains.  

If I re chain the edges i never get the start point to the midpoint of the radius on a corner.  I find starting contour tool paths on the edges makes the start/stop point less noticeable.

 

Any new input would be greatly appreciated!!!
