Mastercam 2020 is released

The maintenance expiration date to run it is 05/31/19 or later

 

The build date of today's release is the same as the PC1 release that went out to beta testers  2 weeks ago

If you have installed PC1, you do not need to install today's release

ok, so what's the overall feeling for 2020? Is it another headache and not worth the upgrade until the first fix comes out or did they do a better job than some of the previous releases the last 12 years? I've got some issues with 2019, especially surface high speed scallop (and rest-passes) not always working. But I don't need more headaches.

I looked for another thread about this release, but I don't see the normal b!tching about it like I have on past releases...I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I don't think so.  Download it and install it to test it out.  Doesn't take that long.  Don't uninstall 2019 just in case you want to go back.  That's what i did.  I didn't go back though!!

If you like the scallop toolpath you might really like the new power it has in 2020, I have not really used it to its full potential yet but after watching this video i think this new feature of scallop will be an awesome and very handy thing so this alone was work the download for me.

I am waiting on my IT department to re-image my computer before I make the transition. But from the "What's New" PDF, I am looking forward to it. I haven't had many issues at all from upgrading all the way back from X7 annually
