Mazatrol Post

I think there is one for Mastercam. Mazatrol is easy to do if you have been programming for any amount of time should be real easy to get up an running on one in a short amount of time. I agree with the others EIA program it, but use Mazatrol doe your tools and life is good. Now you can program EIA or Mazatrol and never look back.

It's probably worth an email to inquire about what is available.

Thanks everyone.

MLC sent me a functional binned post to get us going.

Works pretty good and came with a sample file to show the axis combinations for the different toolpaths and misc. functions (there are several extra ones). We will see how well it posts for our machine today, but the tech from CNC Services says the code looks good.

It is not considered a Mill Turn, but a lathe with 2 upper turrets ( 1 dedicated to each spindle).

So MP works pretty well and gives a good enough verify even for a mill guy. And it is impossible to crash the turrets together, so life is good.

Looks like we have a new (actually former employee) Mazatrol guy coming back, but as Ron pointed out we can now do both conversational and off-line and that can't be a bad thing in a job shop.

I watched a vid on the Camaix interface and it didn't look particularly user friendly. And I couldn't find anyone that has used it....which may tell us something...

It is not really a part of the shop I ever expected to be involved with, but if they start wanting more off line progging here I will consider working up our own post.

Yeah, I would go MP Post for sure, considering you can get support from your Reseller.

Camiax is a German Reseller, so you'd basically be going "off the reservation" with that one. Plus, there may be a language barrier in dealing with them.

The other issue is if the software is custom, then you are learning something with only a single application, versus a MP-based Post which uses your existing Mastercam knowledge.
