Here is my question,  we do not want to use cimco editor for post processing we want to use Mastercam to post. We just want to use Cimco editor to transfer and download programs but not for a post processor. Any  help would be much appreciated.

are you using mc to transfer files or do you have a stand alone cimco?

It sounds like you want to post your .NC file out using Mastercam's Code expert and then open the file in cimco and send it to the machine using Cimco Edit.  You can do this but you will have to post the code into Mastercam Code Expert, close code expert, open Cimco Editor, go File, Open, navigate to where the file is posted to, then open the .NC file in Cimco then transfer the program to the machine.  Alternatively you could just post the .NC file in Cimco and then just transfer it to the machine within one editor.  That what I would suggest you do.  Is there any reason you dont want to post out into Cimco?

if it were me i would get cimco set with colors etc. the way you like it, that way it doesnt look funny anymore. I like the look of cimco and am very used to the way it looks so for me i dont think it looks funny at all but i have used it for so long now that i could just be used to it. 

On a side note though you can use any editor with mastercam, so if you find or purchase an editor that is similar to Cimco that you like (perhaps Predator editor or some of the others) you could set mastercam to post to that editor (this is done on the start exit page of the mastercam config)

I have never used predator editor but i have talked to some people that really seem to like it so if you really want something different you could always look into something like that. 

But the settings in cimco are easy to edit so i expect you could certainly customize the look of cimco if you prefer.

you set communications in config communications or just open your cimco and send from there
