How to change pst file so not multiple same feedrates posting in same operation

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Could someone point me in the right direction on where to change my post file for our mill-turn lathe? We have the Fanuc Oi-FT control, and are using a modified version of the "Generic Fanuc 4X MT_Lathe" post. When i post an operation that does multiple cutting passes (that use the same feedrate), it posts the feedrate on each line that has the feed move (G01) making editing of a feedrate a long process because there is a bunch of the feedrates in the NC file. Our older post for a 2 axis lathe posts out just one feedrate per operation (if the feedrate is the same for all the passes) but im unable to determine how to change my new post to do the same. Example nc file attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!  t1.NCt1.NC

You will need to do a zip2go and include the .pst file if you want someone to find the problem. Could be many things, often I have seen people do something like "force" an output (bypass the modality) for whatever reason. Easiest way to figure it out will be to run it through the debugger, should be able to see what's happening pretty easily.

What I typically do for this is edit the Post Processor so the Cut Feed is output as a Fanuc Variable, so you only have to change it at the start of the tool. Also, this gives you the ability to use a different variable number for each operation.

I usually do something like set the cut feed to "140.", (IPM), and that way I get F[#140] as the output in the NC File, and at the Tool Call, I output #140=0.02 (or whatever you want the value to be). I will typically enter the actual Feed value as a Miscellaneous Real Number, so I can control the output. I will also add a Miscellaneous Integer switch to control IPM vs. IPR output, since we are essentially hijacking the Feed Mode by forcing IPM (so we can get the variable number, as a "per operation" output. Basically, all Feed outputs just call the same variable number, which gives you a single place to make the edit.)

Thanks Colin, unfortunately im not real tech savvy in this area so your method above seems pretty complex to me. I was hoping there was something i could easily alter in my PST file for a quick fix to duplicate feedrates.
