DMG/MORI 3rd party service

Does anybody know of a service company that specializes in dmg equipment who will travel?

We're having a hell of a time trying to get service on our older DMG machines. It takes weeks to get somebody from our local supplier. There is another company we use at times and they're scheduled 6 weeks out. It's crazy.

Any way, we're will to pay travel costs to get somebody here in a more reasonable time. Gotta get those spindles turning again.

Thanks for any replies.

There are a few people out here in So Cal that do this. Do a Google search been years since I needed this for any shop I worked in, but been in shops that were having this done.

Another option is to contact different service centers in the US and see if they have any secondary companies they recommend.

When Ellison was handling Mori out here in our neck of the woods the service was outstanding. Since they dropped Ellison and went direct they've been nothing but a PITA to work with.  I've heard rumor that we'll never see another Mori in our shop because of it.

The rumor in the machine tool dist world is Mori is a billion dollars in debt and in serious trouble. I don't know if that is true or not but I have heard it from several different sources. I do know that in our area I have heard recent stories of people getting a machine delivered but having to wait 2-3 months to get in installed.

I wouldn't touch their machines with a 10 ft stick...

DMG service has always been terrible for us.

Mori used to be excellent thru Maruka but when Mori merged with DMG and started handling their own service it started sucking too.

I wouldn't buy either brand now. If you can't get service in a timely manner it's a bad deal.
