need to post drill cycle that starts slowly

Sorry but I have to make this quick...

We start a hole with a short drill, then use a long drill to go deep. we start the long drill at 500 RPM then then kick it up to 6000RPM once started into the hole. We feed at F4. into the hole then F25. once in and drilling.

Is there a way to get this to post out?

something like this...  The ( ) are what I added and would like it to post. I did this with point machining BTW.

Thanks as usual everyone.

Dan

Without making a custom drill cycle, which your reseller should be able to help you with, you can also do a point toolpath and use some wireframe entities to drive the drill around and change the speed/feed at specified depths. This is what I use when I need a hole or two with an entry feed that kicks up when I hit full diameter engagement.

Our Reseller made us a Custom Drill Cycle exactly like this for our Fanuc controlled YCM's.  We get really good code that we don't have to edit.  We use Thru-Spindle Coolant drills with this cycle, and we don't turn on the thru-spindle coolant until after we get into the holes.

Looks like I'll need a custom cycle made. I don't see anywhere in the point machining to change speeds and feeds. There is no geometry to select and "change at point" where I can usually do stuff like that.

Thanks for the pointers everyone.

Hey Dan,

You don't change speeds and feeds when you first initialize the point toolpath. You first choose your point(s) and create the path, then you can go into Parameters or Geometry to change speeds/feeds or point geometry.

For drilling a single hole with a slow entry and then a feed change, I would end up with two point operations in the toolpath manager. One drives the drill from my initial clearance point to the end of the entry move, at my slow feedrate, and the second drives the drill from the end of the entry move to the full depth of the hole, at normal feedrate.
