Tool library from Excel

We have a complete data base of all our tooling in the form of an excel workbook.  Is there any way I can pull this information into Master cam 2019 to create a tool library?

You could create a macro to do this for you mastercam does have functionality to read excel files, however it might be more work to create than to enter the Tools one by one, that dépends on the size of your database though.

vbscript might be an easy solution i see in the help files some fairly simple functions such as

// make a Drill operation using the current point(s) and some tool dimensions

// if you don’t call one or more of the depth/plane initialization functions, reasonable

// defaults will be used

// this function returns an operation ID # or mcOPERATION_INVALID

Integer MakeDrill(    

            String,  (Input: operation comment)

            Real,     (Input: tool diameter – or use 0 and just search on tool # & tipangle)

Real,     (Input: tool tip angle)

Integer, (Input: tool number – or use 0 and just search on tool dia & tipangle)
