split solid body

Hello All ,

I know  the option for add some  solids body (boolean ) ,but what is the best method to split solids .This my sample ,I want to separate  indexer body from housing

I tried opening your file and I got an error. I have copied solids to different levels and then trimmed each copy to the same plane. You can create a rectangle at the place you want to split and do a Extrude cut if you want to try that method.

This has been my method as well. It works well and I have done this to split a model in half and then boolean add a different half to create a frankenmodel.

Can you just use <Solid Trim>  by plane and use <split solid>

Select a plane and poof?

I think that it was 're-added'?   It was available in older versions of the software and then disappeared for a while I think.
