Mastercam Direct

Hi when we do our setups we use solidworks then use mastercam direct to import into mastercam.

Is there a way once we apply out operations and run it thru verify we can save the stock to allow us to use for the next op setup in solidworks ? I know we can save stock as stl but solidworks will open stl but we cant do anything with the stl file.

 

Any help would be appreciated

Can you create a Stock Model? I do this all the time in regular Mastercam, but I have never used Direct.

Unfortunately, STL is the only export for Verified stock.

I would suggest using Mastercam to manipulate the location/position of your solids in fixtures.  Mastercam modelling has become very robust and the dynamic gnomon makes moving things so much easier than fighting mates in SW.  IMHO.

If that is unacceptable I suggest putting a few points on the screen and copy those to SW.  Use them to manipulate the position of the STL.  That's how I've done it for years... even before I used Mastercam.
