How about cutting your calculation times by 40-70%, instead of 10-15%?

How would that be possible? By applying the correct technology.

While I'm not super stoked on the AMD Radeon Pro, I have a feeling that it would be more than adequate for Graphics Performance for Mastercam.

But the Intel Xeon 8260, at 3.9 Ghz, with a 35.75 MB Cache,

Too rich for your blood?

How about this one:

Just curious, do you have experience running the xeon platinum chips? I was always under the impression from what I have been told. Always buy the fast single core processing chip we can for Mastercam. And just looking up the charts, i9-9900 Ks is the current intel winner. Is the pure cache on a xeon giving it a huge jump in processing what we do to get a 40-70% increase?

Clock speed rules. It is not necessary to pay the extra money for a Xeon chip. Get the fastest clock speed you can afford and overclock it but don't waste your money on a Xeon.

  • 2 weeks later...

I bought a refurb machine from Boxx today

I'll replace the P2200 video card with a Quadro RTX 4000  ($760 from Amazon)

add 32gig more ram and a big storage drive and I'll be good to go

I'll be selling that P2200 if anyone is interested

System Cosmetic Code A means scratches or dents in the case
