Operations transition THROUGH my part

Recommended Posts

PLEASE, why does this happen and what can I do to avoid it in the future?

If you look at the screenshot. I have circled in red a path the tools takes from one operation to the next which goes RIGHT THROUGH MY PART. But in the simulation ("verify") it did not display this egregious behavior! I missed it and botched my part.

INFO:
I have clearance planes set above the part for *every single operation*. I would expect the tool to go to this clearance plane before making any moves between operations.

The simulation no longer shows rapid collisions you would need to set your collision settings to include workpiece. Check for incremental not set in any parameters. Check all your surface operations have a positive retract. There must be an op that has a low retract and the transition between op scraps the part.Egregious is the right word!

Mastercam did exactly what you told it to. You are using 3.25 as your absolute Clearance plane point in your linking parameters, but on the surface High Speed you have it set for 2.0 as your absolute clearance plane position. Change it to 3.25 like all your other operations and life is good again. 😉
