  1. I've noticed that you're going to start charging for X+ with MasterCAM 2020. Yes, X+ has been a freebie for many years. It is grown over the years and it became a fairly big job to keep it up to date. Also Mastercam version updates are more frequently...once per year. Hereunder I decided to adopt this new course. Can you give us a brief description of how this will work? Subscribers will receive a license file (XML). This file has to be copied into the public X+ folder. Very simple. X+ will run without license on all dealer SIMs. To create a license file: The SIM number, SIM type (Hasp/Nethasp) and of course company's name and address has do be delivered. 30 days demo licenses are possible too. Will the license be purchased through my distributor? You can purchase straight from gmccs or through your reseller. A discount is granted to resellers. Your reseller may contact me. Will it be included in my nethasp license file or will I have to setup a second license server just for X+? Nothing like that. The license will be delivered as an XML file. No server needed. Will the software be licensed per copy or does the 400 euro/year cover all copies being run? On a NetHasp X+ will run on all seats. Will formal documentation now be included? In the future I'll probably deliver some documentation and maybe also some videos. Maybe I'm going to make some tutorials. It depends on the amount of subscribers. Will a method of support, aside from an unreliable forum, be created? Email and community. BTW I don't think that this forum is unreliable ;c)

  2. Thanks so Much!! I will use that as needed, but I found my problem..... If you specify the tool as custom and not a lollipop it gives the tool a Zero radius, hence it thinks it is cutting.

  3. I just made a quick sample trying to roughly copy what your picture shows and this is what I ended up with.

  4. Yes I have seen it quite a bit. Make sure you delete out any groups in your file. View and then groups and you will see all the extra groups in there. Delete them and should reduce it, but I see it on big files or files where I merge a lot of things in.

  5. M1 is probably hard coded in your post and not controlled by CANTEXT so not even a good thing you're trying to accomplish IMHO using that as an example. Getting M0 there should be easy if you look to MPMASTER and mi10$. Will never happen the way you think. You must use the toolpath editor to get down to that level of control. Trust me I have living document that by the time I am done I think it will have 5000 comments to cover all the things every operator at one company wants to see for these types of comments.

  7. One thing I teach people making custom tools in lathe using wireframe is to open a tool in the lathe tool manager close to one you want to customize. Then right click on the tool and save it to a level. Now use that level to help you reverse engineer the tool you really need. Pay attention to Red and Yellow for these controls how Mastercam understand the way the insert is facing in the machine. Funny 3D tools will not respect this and can have the wrong color showing for the correct facing insert.

  9. Feed = 25.4/ pitch. m5-.8 =25.4/.8 =31.75 pitch. (1/31.75= .031496) lead. Close to a 10-32 thread. (.03125)

  10. Yes, we did too. I'm just glad I'm working with a Millenial who loves these kind of problems because he figured out how to get around Mastercam's attempts to make things 'easier.'

  12. You can actually opt to ask for a replacement. Epson printer utility setup 1131 is a hardware issue and you could say your printer is basically dead. They do send replacement printers so make the most out of your warranty. It’s legit.
