  1. Do you have the standard Okuma HiCut or did you spring for SuperNurbs high speed? If you only have HiCut you can still get the machine to move crazy fast but it requires a little more finesse. With HiCut I open the tolerances for for roughing to get the fastest movements in-between cuts when using dynamic. I also set the loop size a little bigger to make the machine move smoother. If I set the CAM tolerance to .01" and the machine tolerance to .01", I will leave .04 stock to be safe. Otherwise you can end up cutting corners. The commands to change high speed tolerance dynamically are G131 on/G130 off. There are also parameters to specify in the G131 line, E=tolerance, F=max speed, J= mode (1 or 0 for prioritizing speed or accuracy). As far as speed and feed. I normally start at 12000-14000 RPM in our MB5000 depending on the tool. A lot the final RPM is determined by listening to the sound and adjusting. Small RPM changes can drastically effect the harmonics. For feed I use the Helical milling adviser. https://map.harveyperformance.com/#/tool/null/null Below is a link to a demo video I did a while back. The same HiCut/Dynamic settings as mentioned above. 1045cr steel in that demo.

  3. All it does is expand the verify timeline..."makes it easy to see quick tools that might get lost in many operations" Basically useless

  4. Here is where I would start. I would see if I could get to here. I suggest one tool for the 1st depth 1.25 LOC 1.5 stick out at the 2nd parameters you only get .0003 deflection.

  5. You can use Optirough like 2D and get the benefit of stock models. I will make flat boundary surface of 2D shapes I want to cut with Optirough and then make the same boundary I would and then I am done.

  6. I don't know why, but that is the way the MTB set up our JOBS gantry mill It has a right angle head, a 3X and a 5X head and all use G43.4 It works but their are limitations

  7. Mastercam solids run on the Siemens Parasolid kernel That is file extension X_B and X_T. These should always be your first choice … if you have a choice

  11. Free Solids No there is not you can save a revolved shape of the jaws. I have attached a link to something I have used for different solids over the years to help with setup sheets and such. They are basic solids, but should help. I always go overkill on my solids for setup sheets. I am not normally onsite for my programs so they have to be extremely detailed.

  12. CYCLE800 and you have 2 options you can post it from a common WCS and all the values will be output from that common WCS or you can do local WCS to each feature and the CYCLE800 will have the local coordinates of each WCS put into the CYCLE800 and then all the X,Y,Z values will be relative from there. Problem with most Fanuc's using G68.2 is the builders don't set them up correctly to do the transform of the local coordinate system when programmed this way. Not sure why Siemens seems to handle it so much better, but on this one point I don't fight with the control on it. With Fanuc it is seems to be a constant fight with customers when trying to program parts that way. Being the control is that new I would think however you decided you want to handle it you will be able to. I have seen just the TROARI process where CYCLE800 was not implemented and they programmed everything from one WCS and all the tilted planes were not output and all canned cycles were point to point. With CYCLE800 it is just like G68.2 where all standard canned cycles work like they should in the tilted planes if that was also a concern. Call me if you want to go over this.
