  3. For posterity - in the mill-file.rpx file the New Page data in the report detail is defaulted to "Before". If that field is changed to none it won't break the page for each new NC name.

  4. Use "finish passes" for depth cuts. This will create depths that do not fluctuate.

  6. Do a stock model after the milling operations using them as the source operations. Then use the Create Stock Boundary to update the lathe stock after milling operation are done and it will create the correct lathe boundaries from that and you're good to go.

  9. It can work as a single OP if your tolerances are not tight...as you can get it close The reason I do them as separate toolpaths is I generally need to control the width of the slot with a tolerance and to allow for plating build-up... I also prefer to rough the centerline of the slot as the 1st cut as well, then move up & down... I slotting toolpath that allowed the entry of the top and bottom locations, as well as the width of the saw and DOC, something akin to the grooving toolpath inlathe would be a very nice addition

  10. 3 random Points can be picked for WCS by Geometry. 2 lines that are non planar can be picked for WCS by Geometry. Exactly like Verisurf does it no completely different, but again what does it take to support them for the free versions? You're building them anyway for Verisurf so if not a big deal then roll with it. Want to test the waters remove them from the next update or make a limited free tools with just 5-6 options and then a full. See which one gets the most downloads? Problem will be how do you gauge it? How do you know what people want? Bigger question is what will people pay for? X+ was free for years and now is chargeable reach out to Guther and see how many purchased it. I have used Varco Reports and paid for it for years. Want to make Verisurf tool a chargeable item? Give it a shot I got no problem paying a little something to use the tools, but I been on the other side of the coin seeing what development takes so I get it. Problem is people for the most part think coding is 2 seconds or work and debugging is is even faster than that. Hugh disconnect from what it takes to make something work and make it work good. Verisurf is a great product, but as I hoped everyone would embrace MBD and be willing to pay for it we can see I was wrong. Machine tool probing is still not getting traction even through everyone claims they want to do it.

  12. Top 3 are Hole Axis since it supports surfaces and wife frame. Screen shot. Fit Curve to Chain. Others used. Min Bounding Box, Auto Flip Normals and Power Select. Merge CAD files. WCS tools are not needed as much since WCS process is dynamic. Planes tools are good for reverse work, but for the free tools not sure how many are using them. I have used trim to multiple planes some over the last few years, but can do it with other Mastercam tools it push came to shove. Most are good for Inspection process, but for programming today Mastercam have inherited most of them into the functions and abilities. With the 3D PDF now part of 2021 you can do away with it as part of the free tools.

  16. Hello... With every single different Mastercam installation/version I have ever tried, I have never been able to get "arc" lead/in-out to work when cutter compensation enabled in control. It works when only straight lead in/out is enabled. What I'd like to have is: enable cutter compensation with G41/G42 with a linear movement, then do the arc movement with compensation enabled. What's the catch?

  20. if you wanted to do it the hard way draw half of a circle in one plane, rotate it from the edge in the perpendicular plane by the angle that your pitch works out to, create a plane from the arc, draw the other half of the circle and rotate it like the first one. should have one complete helix and can translate it for whatever length you need.
