  1. hey for all you mastercam gurus out there, is there an easy way to get mastercam to register all of my 2 connected arcs into regular full circles without a ton of work? i have a drawing with a grip of different sized holes and i want to use contours, but i have to pick both sides of the arc, which sucks. if there's a better way i'd like to hear it, but i would also like to know if there is a way to just join the segments into 1 continous line as far as mastercam sees because i'd like to use that process on other shapes as well thanks
  2. it is a haas vf1 this is the last few lines of the program g91 g28 z0. g28 z0. g90 m99 colin, as i was typing my responses i realized you probably nailed it. i do have g68 active at a very slight angle < .1 degrees usually. but that would likely do it over the course of the whole table moving back. well played, sir thank you
  3. maybe i'm dumb, but i just put a point in the corner and then use translate/copy
  4. anyone know why a g28 y0. would cause an x over travel alarm??? it's not work offset, no chips in the machine, other easy stuff, etc its the last line of a subroutine and put in a g28 y0 after the g91 g28 z0 because i want it to home in z and then bring the part forward. upon reading i know i can do this wit ha g28 g91 x0 y0 z6.0 or something of the sort to set an intermediate position, but this isn't' the question. it does the g91 g28 z0. no problem, then alarms out on next line, g28 y0. with a 1.316 x over travel range alarm...wtf more important than figuring out a way around it (which i've already done) WHY does this happen? what do i not get that could cause a y move to over travel in x?
  5. i've tried with final depth and machine finish passes after roughing, etc but no love FYI POSTING HERE BECAUSE CAN'T MAKE ANOTHER POST TODAY: thanks leon, but i need my overlap in order to remove the witness. is the only way to make 2 separate contours and do the second one with the overlap off?
  6. no err file. so if i want to use lead in and lead out i can't use spring pass? i thought it was smart enough to just not use lead in/out on spring passes. doesn't make sense that you can't use lead in/out because it something that is necessary so often. it should use it for the removal passes, then once the mutlipass has done what you expect it to, run 2-3 passes without lead in/out at the finish diameter to clean up anything
  7. just wondering if anyone else has ran into this...on my contours i have spring passes set, and when i backplot, i get 'spring pass without lead in/leadout overlap etc' message, but in the code there is no actual spring pass posted out. am i missing something or is this a bug?
