if it hasn't been suggetsed already.....drag & drop solid ops the same way you can do in operations

i don't use the auto-save function setup for minutes.......
i constantly hit alt-a though (save save and save again).....
-save using active mcam name
-prompt before saving file

what about heat build up? maybe a fan is not working or only working intermittently....check the power supply fan, the microprocesser fan...maybe your graphics card or chipset has a fan as well.....

does this shut-down/reboot happen during the boot-up process? or does it happen when you start a certain application? or does it happen randomly?....your working on your computer then boom it shuts down for no apparent reason running multiple apps

the help folder has 42 files in it...(38 plus 4 hidden)
when i select a .hlp file thru windows explorer, such as mill.hlp or router.hlp.....help opens up to a warning...master.cnt not found...i hit ok....then help opens up
help still doesn't work while working in mastercam....i'll try to find and load master.cnt
and core.hlp later......i have some programs to do now

i updated the following over the wknd....
dec03translator.zip
dec03mastercamatp.zip (which includes dec03vb.zip)
jano4solidworks.zip
jan04sat.zip
i also installed...then uninstalled dec03catia.zip
now i have no help files...when i select help i receive a warning...
core.hlp not found or master.hlp not found
any idea why this is?
can i reinstall help only?

do all users have same system as yours?
are you networked....using word?
what else are you running while starting word?
try to disable hyperthreading and see what happens

that confirms what is happening.....sharp curves on path not allowed

does swept solids support sharp corners?
from reading post from long time ago (2001) this was supposed to be added on future releases...

that's a good question.....can mastercam handle a "cloud of points" or does mastercam require the points to be in a more structured order such as slices or sections of points all sharing a common X or Y axis, for creating a loft surface....coons surfaces might also be created form the points.......i'm also interested in the answer to these questions.

is there a file that will tell me what updates/patches i have applied to mastercam?.... this way i will know what patches/updates i need to apply. (sounds to easy but i thought i would ask)
also when i open add/remove programs i have 2 versions of mcam installed.(mcam 9 sp1 and mcam 9.1 sp2)
can i uninstall mcam 9 sp1?
these aren't presing issues, but it's saturday and i'm trying to get mcam to run at peek levels.

toolpaths....job setup....import....import from...."choose file"
black & turquoise boxes precede the tools and operations in the list.
what are they?
what's there function?
I always choose them and have no problems...but i would like to know.
I did notice that if you import tools from the same file more than once the # of boxes increases...what does this mean?

celeron has no math coprocesser.....i say spend the couple/few hundred more $$$...if you keep the computer 2-4 years thats $100 a year.....don't go out to dinner a couple times a year and theres your money back.....if you don't choose a pentium now you'll kick yourslef later

I believe in Europe and Japan copper is the norm and in North America graphite is the norm.
If you are going to copper is it straight copper or Telco (tellurium copper), Hard Drawn copper, CT-3 (copper tungsten) or even Free Cutting Brass.....all have different machining characteristics and wear patterns.

my parts are 1" thk with all the normal arcs, chfr's, steps etc. on it
any thought on speeds & feeds?
