  1. There is a file on the ftp site.

    ....MCX_MR2_orEarler_Files/DEL TOOL 3514AM.MCX

I cannot get this custom tool profile to post or

    verify correctly.

I've tried scaling the tool gemoetry, using 1 as tool diamter, using 25.4 or 12.7 or 31.75 or zero as tool diameter nothing works.

There were a couple of topics on the forum but nothing is working for me. banghead.gif

If anyone has the time.....I'd appreciate if you could take a look at the file.

  2. I talked with the haas tech support.

First thought was that the M21 relay was set to stop the spindle. We tried using the relay for M22 thru M25....same result, spindle stopped.

Second thought was that the M21 thru M25 were aliased....meaning there was a macro running when

one of these M codes was envoked....after looking at the M codes in the system parameters this was not the case....no macros were set to run with these M codes....spindle still stops.

Haas is still looking into why spindle stops.

    Anyone.....any thoughts?

  3. I have a HAAS EC-1600 HMC with a HAAS HRT-600 rotary table mounted on it.

We use a HAAS servo control unit to index the HRT-600. This requires a M21 to be inserted to the program where the table will be indexed.....no biggie I am also working on having my post output the M21 instead of the B move it does at present.

The issue I would like to solve is when the machine/EC-1600 sees the M21 it turns the spindle off. This is fine at tool changes but most of the time I index the part to machine a different feature using the same tool with the same spindle speed.

Is there a way to keep the spindle on when the machine sees a M21?

  4. bear...i looked at your file it did have a complete path but depths were varying along the path.

i switched from rotation type 3 axis to axis substitution.....this seems to be working.

it puzzles me how 1 time 3 axis works next time it doesn't on a similar part.

    thanks for the input.

  5. I've used contour3d in the past with good results, now with this similar part it does not follow the geometry path.

I like contour3d as I can use cutter comp. I've put a 2nd op using rolldie which follows the geometry path but does not let you use cutter comp.

I'm running this on a HMC.

My original plan was to machine a 90deg (plus overlap) quadrant then transform/rotate to complete the other quadrants. The present geo has no overlap in it as I've tried various paths to make it continuous....nothing has worked.

I placed a file on cadcams ftp site.

    In.....MCX2_files/DEL TEST 03855-0-T1.MCX

    linky

  6. can someone plz explain to me why project onto a surface will not work properly.

i have the same issues everyone else has.....why would something as basic as "project" not be fixed?

i've found mcam x2 mr2 sp1 to be very unstable.

all i want to do is "project"......a 2 minute operation turns into a 1 hr PIA... banghead.gif

    i don't understand????....2 steps fwd 1 back
