  1. scroll further down the page from the first link and you'll see it.
  2. quote: I just hope we don't have to wait till X5 to get a fix for this and any others that MAY show up. That could take 6 to 8 months CNC Software is way smarter than that. No way, are they going to let these bugs go that long. They'll start losing market share if that happens. I've got a lot of faith in some of those guys up there. And I really appreciate the one on one help provided by Chris Bell in particular.
  3. quote: That warning is legalese BS.. I run multiple instances all the time.. In X4 and X4 MU1 I was hoping that's what it was. I've been running multiple instances since version 5 and 6. It would really be crappy to have software that doesn't allow you to open multiple parts within a session and doesn't allow multiple sessions. This is 2009 for crying out loud. If I thought for one second that I could not have multiple instances open anymore. I'd be shopping for new software. It's that important to me.
  4. quote: From my experience, Quadro NVS aren't worth the powder to blow them up. Have several customers that went that way to save money. They are a 2D graphic card. They are not on the Solidworks supported list, so I don't recommend them. mine has been working on this computer just fine since X came out. When I went to download the updated driver I picked the driver that SolidWorks recommends for this particular card on the nvidia website, which was version 162.65
  5. quote: Now try Verifying somthing small and simple. Both the mouse and the Pilot will work correctly. I know what you're saying, Gcode. But it's not true for me. It's behaving just like a big file even on simple little parts. I'm just using a trackball. no space pilots or anything like that. After you stop moving the mouse it moves for a few more seconds. so rotating it to the right spot is a windage and elevation thing. I don't know what it would be like on a big file. I haven't tried that yet.
  6. I'm using nothing but a logitech track wheel. I downloaded the latest driver which is dated 8-05-09. but I still get the drift. It only happens in verify.
  7. quote: It would be nice if bosses cast shadows though. Yeah, it would also be nice if they would leave early once in a while.
  8. quit braggin' Joe. we don't need your kind 'round here.
  9. I started getting some drift too in verify after downloading new drivers for my Quadro NVS 280 card. I'm just happy to see the stock now, so I didn't say anything. (till now)
  10. I found newer drivers for my video card. Now instead of being solid black it's just really, really, dark. I've tried everything else that you said, Chris. I have disable accel, unchecked in both places. I'm not sure what to do now, but I am thankful to at least be able to see the stock to some degree now.
  11. quote: I just un-checked disable hardware accel, and .... voila!, the colors are all back in verify! mine was unchecked when I found the problem
  12. where do I find that, Gcode? running XPpro
  13. I just disabled Hardware exceleration. Didn't help.
  14. my driver is up to date. Nvidia Quadro NVS 280 PCI-E
  15. I just changed my background color to white and I see a solid black block and a solid black tool
  16. Me too. What's going on?
  17. quote: DO NOT scale an electrode model. quote: Matt is correct:do not scale. quote: I'm with Henry and Matt on this one. Never Ever scale! quote: I see a few of us have gotten "burnt" on the scaling quote: I'm also going to mess with scaling a few parts and see how they compare to solid thickening. If the same results appear, I'll stay away from thickening.
  18. One other thing: .0015 ps and .0085 ps. isn't very much overburn. We almost always use .015-.030 on roughers and .003-.005 on finishers. but you gotta do what you boss says I guess.
  19. I'm with Henry and Matt on this one. Never Ever scale! Any of the other options work well. Either lie about the cutter size or just leave negative stock. It always seemed easiest to me to just leave negative stock. When the entire electrode is done the Z stock on the entire electrode is all relative to itself which basically nullifies the z negative stock in the first place. it sounds to me like maybe your overthinking it a little, MotorCity
  20. it sounds like he knows what the settings need to be and how to change them, he just needs the proof from CNC software to convince his IT guy. I've never seen the video, but it sounds like common sense. Stupid IT's.
  21. I sent it off to QC on saturday. still haven't heard anything yet, but it's only monday morning. I'm sure they have a lot of stuff like that when they come in after a weekend. I am wondering, though, if any one else has heard anything back from them on this? it sounds like several of you have sent the bug in already.
  22. I can duplicate this bug every time through that series of steps. I've tried it on several different files, using several different tools. I AM NOT, going to redo my tool libraries every time a new release comes out. I've got too many hours in my library for that. if that's how it has to be. I'll just end my maintenance agreement and stick with a single version. Right now our owner is so mad, I may not get another version anyway.
