  1. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In restmill toolpath (hsm or standard)it would be good to add additional option to use only previous operations that I manually select (not only one previous operation, all previous operations...) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can do that now by verifing the operation (or operations) and saving it off as an STL file and Use the "CAD File" option and select the saved stl file. that works but when you're quoting work against people who make an hourly rate of 3grams of rice per hour...it kinda sucks.
  2. I'm really feeling sorry for, Diesinker and Bigjohn. You guys wanna switch for a while. I don't mind fishing on Monday mornings and thinking about what life coulda been like.
  3. quote: No... its a new product.. seprate from Mastercam FBM also?
  4. That exciting news! is this coming out in X3 or in an SP?
  5. Thanks, Prosin Molds that fixed it.
  6. X2-MR2 does anyone know if there is a setting to change that keeps the Clearance Plane from changing back to 2" when changing from one type of HSM path to another? I set the operation defaults to 4" and when I select Core Roughing that's what it defaults to but if I copy that path and switch it to a waterline path it changes the clearance plane to 2"
  7. quote: Please be sure to read the Delete Control Definitions Utility.doc! uhhhh?... is it less confusing than what I just read?
  8. quote: that's a pretty expensive seat of Mastercam you've got there prolly didn't cost much at all. There musta been some kinda sale on Friday. I can't believe I didn't hear about it ahead of time.

    help!

quote: It reminds me of how mankind floundered in the dark and middle ages for centuries all because of an elite few who strove to control the masses through careful control of knowledge, (in that case the church tried to be the ultimate rulers of the masses by controlling the means to read and write). Has history taught you nothing! I feel sorry for you, but as with all like you in the past who have tried to gain power, money or stature, the resourcefulness of man, (the majority), will find a way and you will pass. DANG! can we still let him particpate in the off topic religous threads
  10. quote: but I have been able to get back on the path of the good and the righteous. the what!??? and the what???? how did this pepsi get all over my screen?
  11. Welcome to the forum, guy. Does it happen every single time? If so, I would consider do the re-install. I use solids every day and never have a problem like that.
  12. Lars, I think that your poll has a flaw in the way the questions are asked. I'm not sure if I'm faster at programming because of the newer versions. But I know that our machine time is better. Those high speed paths have really helped us by allowing inserted tools to run longer without breakage of inserts and tool burial. The finish is better because it always climb mills and the machines tend to run unattended more often because they require less babysitting. The other thing is if the machines were running unattended before, the operators would have set the feedrate to accomodate the worst situation in the program, like when a cutter bangs into an inside corner. The new highspeed paths will actually add a small radius to those inside corners allowing cutters to swing an arc rather than pound into them and break the inserts or flutes. so if you are a shop that tries to get machines running unattended the newer versions are worth their weight in "Gold"
  13. quote: FIRST thing I checked..... Stupid Xform STILL defaults to "COPY" instead of "MOVE"!!!!!!!!!! My number 1 pet peeve wasn't fixed???!!!!! if that's the only thing wrong with it. They did good. Personally I kinda like the copy default.

    Stock

quote: That is assuming that you have solid. What do you do if you don't have solid? I see what you mean. I guess that I use solids so much that I take 'em for granted.

    Stock

just use the chain to make a solid to be used exclusively for stock. Then pick that solid to verify too. It usually takes just a few seconds.
  16. are you callin the guy small minded? I mean cmon he's brand new don't insult him yet.
  17. quote: now he's really gonna need help and possibly counselling. dpending on his political and religous views. maybe oughtta put dr Phil's number in the "read this first" thread.
  18. columbo, that did help. Good detective work! but that also keeps me from being able to rotate the work piece. but at least it seems like we're on to something...getting close to figuring this out.
  19. thanks for the response, cobra I set tool tolerance to .001. set stl tolerance to .001. I slid the speedquality bar all the way to the right (quality) and it still didn't change anything. any other ideas?
  20. any help from the CNC Software guys?
  21. Tony, it doesn't seem to have any impact on the verify display. James, I'm not sure I'm following what you mean by modeling your toolholder assmebly. I'm using the holder.MCX file in the tools folder and modifying it for my specific holders. Is that what you mean?
  22. Sorry, Thad, but I haven't used the old 3d paths since the HSM paths came out 2 versions ago. But if I were still plowing with horses I would probably agree with you.
  23. quote: Just grind flats on the holders to match the verify and everything will be cool. why didn't I think of that?!? [headslap]. But that presents another problem stopping and orienting the spindle at the right position
  24. so is there no way to make the holders round? the tools are always round why can't the holder be round? right now it seems to me that just because one of the flats on the holder misses it doesn't mean that a round holder would miss the part.
