  1. quote: Where do you guys buy those goofy looking holders China. but they come balanced with lead paint
  2. I'm just wondering if everyone's verification with holders looks this coarse. Or if I have a setting wrong somewhere.
  3. I had no intention of breaking the pricing violation. I just wanted to know what the policy is not the prices. I think that I get it now.
  4. Where can I get that in writing?
  5. thanks guys. I just got invoiced for the multi-axis and just wanted to make sure, I was right before talking to them.
  6. I think that I remember reading somewhere that CNC solutions was going to start making multi axis an additional expense on the maintenance aggrement. But if you already had multi axis with your mill level 3 that you were grandfathered in and that there would be no additional expense. Am I dreaming? I did a search and couldn't find it back.

    MR2

email just came from my reseller quote: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MASTERCAM VERSION 7 CUSTOMERS The Mastercam X3 release is rapidly approaching, and with it comes the Version 7 sunset. When X3 is released, Mastercam nor QTE Mfg. Solutions will no longer provide support to customers on Mastercam Version 7. Additionally, media and documentation will no longer be available. (Note: You will not be able to Update your product this will require repurchasing the software at the current version.) X3!!!! I thought we were still talking about MR2
  8. I'm praying for you, Chris. Thanks for the update, Karen. We'll be praying for both of you. Karen, has there been any kind of a fund set up for Chris?
  9. Randy, it's probably going to take a little more info than just the cross section. Is it a round part? with some flanges on it or squarish looking. If it's a round part I would chain the basic outside shape and revolve it around the axis. After that you'd have to add the flange. If it's a square or rectangular part you'd want to chain the geometry and extrude it. but it will take several solid operations to do everything that i see in that cross section
  10. quote: I'd like to get NOW is stock recognition. yes!
  11. if you create a slice through your solid model, most likely, those curves will be arcs instead of splines. that a simple way that I do it. then you can project them onto what ever plane you want.
  12. 9:45 dang! i was gonna go use this info to barter for a new computer. thought I was lagging way behind. now I know I'm just average. Hp xw6200 dual xeon 3.2gig 3gig of ram xp pro stupid video card
  13. quote: how do the indexable inserts hold up as i run mostly at night and what brand should i look at when I'm running the programs at night and unattended I always run solid carbide endmills and ballnoses. Fraisa is the place to go to for hardmilling but you'll pay a lot for them. We use YG and Mastercut with the Tialn coating for most of our hardstuff. Run the ballnoses with coolant
  14. I thought I found a work around. I used the zip to go utility and that saved it. then I closed Mastercam and reopened and called in the zip2go file. now I'm getting this error.
  15. I just got this same error. I tried all of what Jerosu tried and nothing. Ramsaver tells me there was an error writing temporary file to folder. 20 gig left on hard drive. nothing is read only. I have another session open right now that is responding fine. any ideas
  16. quote: I guess the best thing to do would be to change your selection color to something abscure that you'd (hopefully) never have as a geometry color that's what i've done too. I use a slightly different shade of yellow so that when I pick yellow I can see it. But even then most of the time I change all of color yellow to a different color after reading in and iges file
  17. quote: I need the history tree as the second part will require some slight editing of the solid for thicknesses in various places. this is one of my biggest beefs with Mastercam solids. In most cad systems you can make some edits to a brick. you can delete a face and it will still be a solid it should automatically close the gap. you should also be able to offset a face or extrude a face without having to create a surface first. I know that the technology exists in the parasolid kernel. I don't understand why mastercam doesn't utilize it. I sent this enhancement request off and they replied telling me that they would try to have better conversions of solids so we didn't need to have a brick.
  18. the one thing that seems obvious and maybe you've already tried it, but, how about just outputting minmax X, Y, and Z on your toolsheets so that the operators know where to put the material in the machines? jm2c
  19. quote: ROFLMBFAO careful!! that's a good way to hurt your head.
  20. MachineryMan, maybe this was already covered here and I missed it, but if you bought the man's enitire business, you can in fact transfer his license over into your name. Just like it would happen if GM bought a mom and pop toolshop for their own. they would not be expected to buy all new seats of Mastercam.
  21. :hijack: Daryl_y, welcome to the forum. where do you work at? Ofallon is just a hop, skip and jump from me.
  22. quote: there is no m8 after tool change. your m8's should be after your tool change. which could mean that your coolant setting is being turned on in the header rather than on the canned cycle.
  23. All of the above are the first things to try, but there is a parameter in the Okuma that loosens up the tolerance also. If nothing else works I'd try that.
