  1. Crazy Millman This is in Mastercam 2022. The post has been carried over from probably X6, but when I compare sub pparameter$ against the newest "Generic Fanuc 4x Mill.pst" they are the same. - But based on your response I take it you believe this is a bug within Mastercam? I believe it started adding the group comment to parameter 20018 in Mastercam version 2018. The shop has basically been manually deleting it from their manuscripts for a while now.
  2. Hi All, Looking for some guidance in reference to parameter 20018. The shop utilizes the Toolpath Group Name (20018) within the program header information. Within the Mastercam file, the toolpath parameter can be called "MILL FIRST SIDE FEATURES". After posting the file, parameter 20018 prints out as "MILL FIRST SIDE FEATURES: 010T0001P0001 REV-A". Parameter 20018 shows in the NCI file with the drawing number so I know this is not a post variable definition issue. It is defined in the post processor as shown below. pparameter$ #Read operation parameters #rd_params is used to call pparameter postblock and read the parameters of the operation specified in rd_param_op_no #"pparameter", ~prmcode$, ~sparameter$, e$ if prmcode$ = 12025, rotary_axis2 = rpar(sparameter$, 1) #Capture the axis of rotation in Multiaxis Drill and Curve 5 Axis if prmcode$ = 20018, stp_grp_name = sparameter$ # Set Tool Path Group Name It appears that the Toolpath Group Name is merging with the text within the "Group Comment" under the file tab in Machine Group Properties area (parameter 19111). The shop uses this field for entering the print drawing number. The problem here is that it only merges with the drawing number once. So if the user enters an incorrect drawing number then parameter 20018 holds onto the initial drawing number. Or, if the user imports toolpath groups from another file then it brings in the drawing number from the file that was imported from. Is there a way to force 20018 to not combine with the text from "Group Comment"... Or is there a way to force Mastercam to re-initialize 20018 so it captures the new text within "Group Comment"? Hopefully this all makes sense - Thanks in advance, JPARA
