  1. Hello JoshC. Thank you for the link and modify the plans setting up. I forgot to note that we use Top/Top way for programming because we use to switch program from Horizontal / Vertical due to schedule conflict and we don't need post out B degree with angles (like B0., B90, B180...). The B angle always post out B0. then machinist input those angle provided to machine when setting up. Best regards. Metric

Hello All, Thank you for the help. I also though about perpendicular because drill holes go through 2 sides of tube. Look like customer wants the drill not walk from top & bottom. Again thank you a lot. Metric. P.S Ron don't worry about the "Metric" thing. I'm not seeing any problem on that...

Hello all, This may be an LOL question but please give me some help. I got confused how to read this drawing. Is this .0035" perpendicular with datum A on the 2 of .375/.3785 diameter holes? Thanks. Metric. GT&D.xls
  8. Good morning all, Thank you for inputs. The picture is top side that i plan to remove all material & finish top face and outer periphery included the boss. The 2 inner bores will rough out for last op to bore them, because to tight tolerance & squareness(+/-.0005"). Yes Colin the second op will finish back side (which is identical shape like top side) with soft jaw & plugs to prevent the collapse. (Customer wanted anneal not "haft - hard") Hi Colin, With 3/4 end mill can i go one shot full depth of cut ? (8% step over). Can i use coolant instead of air cool?(We don't have air blow system on our shop). Thank you very much for help. MDT
  9. Hello Bro's, I have a part 1.00" thick (4.0" X 3.0" X 1.0"- 4140 annealed) need to mill out a lot of excessive stock on 40 tapper vertical machine. Please give me some advise on feed & speed. I plan to use 3/4" diameter, 7/8" LOC solid carbide from Kennametal for it. Thanks.
  10. At my company we use : M5; G94; F(per minus). I think you need to use G1 instead of G71 cannel cycle. Hope this is work for you. MDT
