Axis Substitution requires a different method when trying to transform rotate. You need to use "Translate" not rotate and "Coordinate" not tool plane. Then on the next page use "Delta" for Method.
Rotary Ø * pi / # of pattern instances

Yes, but the duct tape, bailing wire and chewing gum holding those UMC-750's together is highly susceptible
I think it is wet carboard.....

Are you doing a spindle and axis warmup before measuring your tools and offsets?

Didn't Bob W have issues with DMG and MillTurn dating back a few years or more?

Our C-Axis lathe has a Siemens 840D controller on it with shop turn software. The Shop Turn software is really powerful and easy to use. We have MC lathe license but the Shop Turn software for R&D one offs is really convenient as you can "copy", "cut", "paste" from existing programs.

Speaking of which, if patterns hold, we should be due for another brand new interface and version naming system again in a couple years. Any bets?
Or a merger of sorts??? Lots of changes in the last few years in ownership in the CAD/CAM world.

AFAIK the license files can only cover back to MC2018 or MC2017. So X5 would not be possible.

I still have my purple HASP...it is likely on life support but it works well (easily) for moving my license between my desktop and my laptop. I know if it craps out I am getting a license file...

They seem crazy fast to me
I usually back their numbers off to about 70% to start and see how it responds on the machine/ part.

You can, however, leverage the fact that it is stock aware to cause it to drop into a position you'd like.
Create a Helix Bore (or drill, or whatever you want your entry to look like) at the specified entry point, then, make a stock model. Pocketing will use it to drop into:
This is really useful information!!!!! Thank you @Aaron Eberhard

Make sure the coolant is blasting the on the tool or use through spindle coolant if you have it. Peck drilling cycle with the pecks set to 1/2 the diameter of the drill.

I thought that for any educational versions of Mastercam, you can't post or export anything. Is that right?
HLE or Home Learning Edition has these restrictions (can not post, can not export etc)
Educational versions (paid license) have full access to posting, exporting etc. Your license has to include the products that you are working with (Lathe, Mill, Multi-Axis etc).

How do you mean switchable graphics?
Usually most systems have an on-board card for regular graphics and a high performance GPU for CAD/CAM work. So it is switchable graphics.
If you only have the High performance GPU than it shouldn't be an issue.
-
Disable the switchable graphics in the BIOS.
-
You can default these custom planes in the Planes Manger to post a designated work offset.
-
One you get it to Boolean use Model Prep to delete the history.

Don't have anything to offer on the other options but Vericut has excellent tech support.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can post with the educational version of Mastercam,
If it is a licensed educational version you can post (mine is an educational license). Home Learning edition can not post, both use .emcam extensions.

I am not onto MC2025 but would like more information in general about when and why you choose these different options.
