  1. Thanks for all the input. Looks like I will be sticking it out with X6.
  2. I have been using X6 MU2 for years. My company hasn't upgraded because they have switched to Catia and only use MasterCam to work on all of our legacy programs. We have ten years worth of parts that have been programmed in Master Cam. They haven't programmed any new parts in MasterCam but I spend 80% of my time going back and updating or fixing old stuff. I asked if we can upgrade because my version of MasterCam takes forever to regenerate some toolpaths and I get thrown out a lot. (IT blames MasterCam and MasterCam blames IT, and I am stuck in the middle) In my opinion a new version would pay for itself in time savings alone. I would like some input as to whether or not you all think it would be worth upgrading and if I do would I avoid some of the problems I am currently having? Or in other words, is the latest version stable? Thanks, Mike
  3. Cathedral, I thank you, my eyes thank you, my head thanks you. It worked like a champ.
  4. I am still using mcx-6. Can anyone please tell me if there is any way to increase the font size in the Operations manager without changing the resolution of my computer. I see a way to use "Large Buttons" in the config file but no way to change the font size. Mine is so small it gives me a headache and eye strain trying to read it. Thanks,
  5. I am still using MaxterCam X6 MU2. My computer: Intel® Xeon ® CPU W3450 @ 2.93 GHz - 6GB Memory - 64-bit OS Graphics Card: NVicia Quadro FX 3800 - Total memory 3838 MB - 1920 x 1200 (recommended) resolution with Medium - 125% setting to change the size of my text. I don't use MasterCam except to go back and change parts that were previously programmed in MasterCam. Lately I have been doing a lot of that. I just started haveing this problem. When I move my MasterCam window between monitors it takes 10 - 15 seconds to come back up. If I minimize or maximize the window I get the same lag time. If I make the window smaller I have to wait but then I can drag it back and forth with no lag time. But when I maximize it I have to wait again. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. My IT guy is stumped. Thanks, Mike
  6. If it is the IT guys, which I don't doubt, shouldn't my mastercam guys come in amd sit down with them and try to help figure it out? One of the biggest arguments mastercam presenteted to us for going with them was the fact that they would be there to support us if we had issues. They came in, looked at the problem and disappeared never to be heard from again.
  7. MasterCrash. Mastercam blames it on IT. My IT guys blame it on Mastercam. I'm stuck in the middle. I've had it. I'm out.
  8. mcam 6 mu2 windows 7 Our IT guys changed some stuff on our network. Now the referenced file warning pops up when opening a file. (See attachment) It is an old file brought into x6 to update some ops. I get "The above file name is referenced in the file being opened. A current version of this file can not be found so the previous version file wlill continue to be referenced." The file shown is %MCAMDIR%mill\ops\mill inch defaults from v9 defaults. I don't get where the file is referenced from. Especially a v9 file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
  9. Haven't changed the screen resolution.
  10. Windows 7 Professional MasterCam x6mu2 Having an issue with the bar on the bottom of the screen ( The one that says "For help, press Alt+H." I call it the information bar ) When I maximize my mastercam this bar disappears. It just started happening yesterday and for no apparent reason. I am having to minimize and then grab the corner of my mastercam window and drag it as close as I can to the corners of my screen without maximizing it. Anybody else ever have an issue like this. And does anybody have an idea what caused it and how to fix it. Thanks in advance, Mike
  11. X6 MU2 Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (6.1.7601) Service Pack 1 64-bit Memory: 6288952 KB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 Has anyone seen this error. This message pops up when I regenerate an optirest toolpath using a stock model as my material: "Refine Toolpath Feature (RTF) Interface is currently disabled. This operation has RTF parameters set. RTF processing will be applied to this operation." I have set the Refine toolpath box to "Normal" nc program length, "Better" Surface quality, and "Normal" Calculation time. Total tolerance is at .005. This toolpath is taking 25 minutes to regenerate. Also, in my task manager it appears that MasterCam is only utilizing about 35% of my memory. I have "Memory burrering" set to 100% of physical memory. Is there anything I can do to get MasterCam to use more memory so it will process faster?
  12. Passed the file to another programmer that just installed x7. He opened it and created a new machine group with no problem. I think I am going to uninstall x7 and reinstall it. Can someone give me a link to uninstalling x7 correctly. Thanks Mike
  13. @Mike I agree 1000000000%
  14. @Jay, Sure. How do I attach it?
