  1. I've spent most of today, trying to install Inventor Suite 2008. After sevaral failed attempts, I contacted Autodesk, they suggested a few things, including to make sure Windows was up to date. After doing a Windows update all the components in the Inventor Suite still don't load and now the worst part, Mastercam won't startup. As soon as I try to open Mastercam, I get the send/don't send error report screen. Any help on getting Mastercam going again without having to do a re-install would be much appreciated. At this point I'm not to concerned about getting Inventor to work, just Mastercam. Thanks, Chris
  2. Go to stock setup, properties and where it says geometery at the top click on the arrow and select revolve. You can now chain the geometery of your stock you want to define. HTH
  3. I did a search, found a lot of topics, but not exactly what I was looking for. I want place a M00 between tools with a comment, I can get it to post out, but not in the correct location in my progrom. This is how it post out: N130 G91 G28 Y0. Z0. N132 M01 N134 M6 N136 T6 N138 / M8 N140 G90 G54 N142 S1800 M3 N144 G0 X-3.01 Y-3.4815 N146 G43 H7 Z4. N148 M00 (INSTALL BOLTS & REMOVE CLAMPS) N150 Z.175 N152 G1 Z-.065 F100. N154 G41 D37 Y-2.4815 F25. I want it to look like this. N130 G91 G28 Y0. Z0. N132 M01 N133 M00 (INSTALL BOLTS & REMOVE CLAMPS) N134 M6 N136 T6 N138 / M8 N140 G90 G54 N142 S1800 M3 N144 G0 X-3.01 Y-3.4815 N146 G43 H7 Z4. N150 Z.175 N152 G1 Z-.065 F100. N154 G41 D37 Y-2.4815 F25. What do I need to change in the post, to change the exact location of the manual entry? FYI, I created the Manual Entry, in the ops. manager between the tools, where I wanted the M00.
  4. Do it, it's well worth it. I could never go back to V9. Chris
  5. Thanks Shawn and Paul for your quick response, I did try changing the cw and ccw in the MD, but it had no effect on the post. I got a email into our reseller. Thanks Again
  6. I'm fairly new to this forum, I did a search on my question, I didn't find the exact topic, but forgive me if it has alread been discussed. I'm doing a simple program where I'm milling on the top, front, bottom and back side. I got the program done and the backplot looks fine. I post it out for our Siemens control and what should be a 90 deg. rotate post out to a 270 deg. I post the exact program to our Fanuc control and the rotates are correct. The Fanuc post has this line of code in it: rot_ccw_pos : 1 #Axis signed dir, 0 = CW positive, 1 = CCW positive. Do I need to add something like this into the Siemnens post or is there another way to change this. Thanks for any help.
  7. Also for books go to the top of this page "Books", there is 4/5 Axis Mill Training Tutorial, I believe there is one available for version 9 also.
  8. I took a look at your file and what you have in Op. 2 should work fine. If you change a couple settings in you backplot display the backplot should verify correctly, except the tool is shown on the outside of the part, but the rapids and feed moves are coming from the center, so you should be all set. Go into Backplot>Display and check the boxes for "Simulate Axis Substitutions" and "Simulate Rotary Axis" and in "Tool Orientation" select front and for "Axis of Rotation" select Z. Hope this helps.
  9. Thanks for the insight, I also had issues with entities on levels but not visible. Now I know why.
  10. Don, I did have a that problem after we got a new Lexmark Laser Printer. Our IT guys got it fixed, I believe, by using a different printer driver. Chris
  11. In the drill point selection page click on the sorting tab at the bottom, and make sure the "Filter out duplicates" box is unchecked. If you have already selected the points, click on the geometery in your toolpath group, right-click and select sorting options and uncheck the "Filter out duplicates" box. Hope this helps.
  12. GFW, In your "Transform Operation Parameter" page, on the lower right were it has the "Work Offset" section check the box next to "Asign New" and set the Start to 1, and the Increment to 1. It worked for me, but it may depend on your post. Hope this helps.
  13. Milan, This is our suppliers website (www.cmtmaterials.com) for syntactic foam, if you go to the Technical Library tab there is some recommended feeds and other info for milling.
  14. Leif, In your toolpath parameter page, right click on the tool and make sure the diameter of the tool is correctly specified.
  15. I'm new to this forum, but I've been struggling with the same issue. I'm trying to program some engraving on the inside of cylinder using a right angle head. I have to use a postive z for the depth, and after it's posted, change all z+ to z-. It can be a real pain, making sure there is no crashes. Please post the solution if come up with one. Thanks,
