  1. Since someone asked what I'm running, here it is: Duel Quad Core Xeon @ 3.2 GHz 128 Gig Ram NVIDIA Quadtro FX 5600 Samsung SyncMaster 305T Solid State Hard Drives
  2. After beating my brains out I have figured out how to get file preview to work with X8. So here it is: 1. Make sure you have save bitmap checked in your config file. 2. Make sure in Explorer in the Folder Options you have "Show preview handlers in preview pane" checked. 3. Make sure in Explorer in the organize / layout options that you have the "Details pane" and "Preview pane" checked. See attached pictures. I hope this helps at least someone
  3. Ok since I have been more of a reader than a contributor I though I might put in my $0.02 worth. Believe it or not I finally made the leap to win7 pro and got my fancy smancy new computer going. Well I hate the taskbar popping up all the time and I hate having it visible all the time. What I did find out though some programs in full screen mode will keep the taskbar hidden yeaaa. But not MC nope it's gotta be different and when I go to the bottom of the screen there it is again that pesky taskbar, so up a bit with the mouse and then carefully back down. A real pain. I did find a solution and it's called TaskBar Hider it works great and well there you have it. I'm done now. Hope you got at least something out of this or at least a chuckle at my expense. If you want it just do a google search for it. It was made by "IT Samples" free and open source code. Thanks, Dean Brower
  4. I forgot to tell you that the parts should be oriented the way you want them before nesting. Also now mind you it's been a long time since V9 but make sure rotate parts is either disabled or set to "0" Barring that please give more exact info and screen shots of every step. Or just give your Mastercam dealer a call for support, but since your still on V9 I assume you don't have free support.
  5. On The sheet tab in the nesting dialog box put material has grain either vertical or horizontal on the parts tab do the same thing If you want the parts cut in groups as they would be on a cabinet, on the parts tab use "add chained clusters" make sure your parts are spaced correctly for your tools before doing this.
  6. What can I say?? You guys are awesome!!!! Thank you
  7. Ok so where would one be able to get this Chook??? It's not on the mastercam x-6 download page
  8. Thank You so much. It works!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I have an engineer that has provided a DWG file of a topographical map of a city with thousands of "buildings" to be machined out. The method of doing this will be to pocket each height layer. However not all the chains are closed. To go through and check every chain on every layer will be extremely time consuming. I tried to talk to the engineer and explain, however there is a huge language barrier. Is there a c-hook or anything that will show all open chains??? I have already done the find overlap and duplicate chains and these all came out clean. It's just that not all chains are closed. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. You could try compression cutters. They cut up from the bottom and down from the top. You can get them here http://www.royceayr.com/ they will also help you with your feeds and speeds or you can look here http://www.royceayr.com/production/chipload-calculator.
  11. Here are the files in pdf so you can see them. If you want the *.ard viewer let me know and I can send it to you
  12. Could you tell me if these are *.ard files output by CabinetVision? Planit does have a *.ard viewer you can download, but still I don't think it will do what you want. If these files are output by Cabinet Vision your person that gave these can also output them as *.dxf. I do this all the time. Not what you wanted to hear, i know, however Planit seems to make things very difficult to open there files with anything else than what they have in there programs.
  13. Try adding a toolpath manual entry. Go to Router Toolpaths> Manual Entry>>> Then you can either type in what you want or put in a *.txt file. something like: G00 X24.00 Y-24.00 M00 Then Choose the NCI output method as Code Or you might have to have something written into your post. Hope this helped
  14. Having ALL UPPER CASE file names are for most people difficult to read. Why I don't know other than we have been taught that you use Upper & Lower Case in normal everyday life. If I don't go to the trouble of re-naming our files and send them to our controller when you look up the file name to run the file there is very little space between the file names. If all CAPS. the files just about touch the line up and line down. And if you have file names that are similar it is too easy to pick the wrong file. The other reason is just personal preference. Plus it just plain-ol-bugs-me that this happens. You pay a fortune for CNC equipment and software to run it, you would think that you could use upper & lower case for file names. Instead of only upper case. If someone posting messages on this forum used only CAPS I am sure that that person would be lamb-basted for there use of CAPS. Am I right or WRONG?
  15. Can anyone please tell me how to get MC to not save the file names in all CAPITALS? I have tried different fonts and as long as you use all small case the file will save in small case, but the minute you use an upper case the file saves only in UPPER CASE. I have set the file directory to accept both UPPER and lower case but MC will now only save in UPPER CASE. This is not a major issue but it make the file names hard for me to read. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
