  1. Doesn't Windows have an auto restart after crash switch as well?
  2. This is from the free Haas 5X Trunion post "Generic Haas VF-TR_Series 5X Mill.pst" that is available from Mastercam.com Your post may have something like this You'll need to set "use first wcs" to no$ There are also work offset settings in the Transform operation that will need to be set properly. #Work offsets workofs$ : -1 #Initialize work offset force_wcs : yes$ #Force WCS output at every toolchange? use_frst_wcs : yes$ #Use only the first WCS read and ignore all others in NCI extoffset : 1 #Extended workoffsets Output Type; 0 outputs G110-G129; 1 outputs G154 P1-P99
  3. Years ago I came in one morning and the entire programming department was down. After a lot of trouble shooting the cause was determined to be a Windows update We were all running Dells with Nvidia Quadro video cards, A Windows update had installed Dell video drivers which rendered our machines unusable. We uninstalled the Dell drivers and replaced them with official Nvidia drivers and all was good. Check your Windows update history and see if Windows has been playing silly games with your video drivers A fancy new 4K monitor may be the cause too. There is an article in the knowledge base at Mastercam.com on how to fix this problem
  4. Did IT update your video drivers overnight??
  5. Try changing those 2 misc reals values to 3
  6. The backup utility is your friend. I don't know how many times it's saved me from crashes, fat fingers and brain farts.
  7. If you are running an the generic 5X post look for this switch use_frst_wcs : no$ #Use only the first WCS read and ignore all others in NCI If it's set to yes, it will post the first work offset it encounters. If it's set to no it will post every work offset it encounters and you must be sure you have them all set correctly
  8. I would open the post up in a text editor and check out the first couple of pages There are usually a bunch of switches you can turn off and on 0 = off. 1 = on
  9. You could get an APT to gcode post built. I've got an old V9 vintage one that I haven't used in 20 years and most post developers offer them. The problem is, almost every MTB that uses APT have their own personal flavor of APT. Building an edit free APT to gcode post would be a lot of work.
  10. Are these toolpaths using some plane other than TOP?? Try right clicking inside the Tool Manager and select "Create Tool Assembly" This is a much better way to build tools assemblies IMO
  11. These two files came in OK for me in 2024 For the tool holder I translated it so that the gage line of the holder was at the orign ( Translate to Origin) then used Solids/ Trim tp Plane ( Top) to remove the taper How are you doing this I use the Mill Assembly Designer in the Tool Manager
  12. can you upload a file that is not working properly
  13. well, considering that the owners of many small machine shops are doing well to break even in any given month, 4 hours of his working for free might have been the better option LOL
  14. Are you building these assemblies in the Holder page of individual toolpaths or by using "Edit Assembly" in the Tool Manager. The Tool Manager is a much better way to go IMO
  15. Glad you got it worked out IMO, you're leaving a lot of $$$ on the table watching that i5 spin it's wheels but if you're happy....
  16. This computer doesn't even meet Minimum Specs for a Mastercam machine It looks like you are doing some reasonably heavy work. You need a better computer
  17. Open the Plane Manager Right click the Mystery Plane Select Report Mastercam will generate a txt file that tells you all about that plane and what it is being used for
  18. I think the holder in the spindle should always be the primary holder because there will always be a holder in the spindle.
  19. 2025 Tech Preview is already out..and I'm already using it for simple one and done fixture work and stuff
  20. I made a stock model out of your part and used that on the Stock page of the first operation That looks like it solved the problem The same approach did not work for the 5X drill toolpath.
  21. There is a reason for this Hit File/Help/About You'll see this.. Mastercam runs on the Siemens Parasolid kernel . To me, it's common sense that Parasolid files would yield the best results when importing models.
  22. My first choice would be parasolids X_T or X_B. Second choice would be STEP Dead last choice, drug kicking and screaming to the alter, would be IGES No matter what you use I don't think X4 is going to import the part names. The newer releases will do that when importing parasolids X_T or X_ B
  23. We spent north of a quarter million setting this place up with Predator about 5 years ago. I tried to get them to talk to Cimco, but the deal was already done. The Cimco rep got a courtesy meeting and was shown the door. The implementation was 50+ machines ranging from 40 years old to modern Fanuc and Okuma controls. Many are ethernet to RS232 , newer ones are ethernet and a few are wireless. This is a public forum and I'm not going to post my opinions on the system here, other than to say the rollout was painful and remains so to this day. My advice is to get a copy of the operator's manual for both systems and spend some time with them.
