I'm not sure about your machine control but if it's not tapping then you will likely also need an M29 in the program to initiate rigid tapping:
G95 (inch/rev)
M29 S415
G98 G84 Z-.32 R.1 F.0313
X1.4075
This is for a #6-32 tap so feed in inch/rev is .0313
I agree with this for gaming, I've been building gamers for 15 years, but for business workstations, go with a name that has solid reliability and, if/when that fails, a good warranty. I've used Dell in most of my shops but am currently using Lenovo with equal success..
I would say that you have to determine which solid model is more complex, your vise or the part, then duplicate the simpler of the 2. Keep the vise visible on 1 level and create your part geometry on 2 other levels. Only display the setup you are working on at the moment. The only other option to limit the number of solids would be to make 2 separate MCX files for each operation. Unless your part is super complex, or your computer is very old, having a second solid isn't going to make much difference.
Edit- using Leigh's way to simplify the solid is a good way to go
The situation is this: When I import a solidworks file OR create a new solid in X2-MR2 everything is fine until I save/close the file. When I return for editing or other info I get the following error messages in consecutive, individual banners:
cannot find solid referenced by history file
corrupt or invalid file. contact your local mastercam dealer
cannot open file C:mcamx2-mr2/... .mcx. it is a file from a newer mastercam version or is not a file format recogized by mastercam.
These messages are new within the last week, and although there are several users here, none of them have admin rights on the computer to make changes to files. Is this just calling for a re-install? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
