  1. high speed waterline seems to do it everytime. If i change it to a surface finish contour it posts as it should. Very odd... all values seem to be good, and no matter if new machine def or not. I can not recall if I have ever used a high speed contour after a circle mill or not but somethin in there is not quite correct.. J - what are you doing now..
  2. Even the original post is causing this... Although the Y values appear to be larger with original post...

  6. Hello John, I am well thank you. Its been a long time since I have been here, nice to see the place is still up and helping people out.
  7. Thank you for the input . I do not see curvature under test surface solid. I should have mentioned I am using X4..
  8. Is there a way to search for the smallest radius on a part for tool selection. I usually cut parts that are designed in house so I know what rad is between bottom of pockets and walls. I will need to import a part from outside source that has mutliple rad, can i do a search or analyze in order to determine my smallest tool for surfacing. Thanks
  9. Try using lower values in the boxes for steps and refresh.
  10. I am not a post guy by far. 12. your guess is correct. I was not sure this morning. I have cut one out of 6 with a perfect outcome.. Endmill still looks brand new. I love this stuff..
  13. Well here we go..... Thanks Chris..
  14. Lars, Actually I have a half dozen of these to make. Chris thanks for the correction. And from what I can gather it is case hardened Nitride .003/.003 deep. Will this require change from what Lars stated?
  15. the slot is .625 deep by .803 wide in 4140 stainless I have a altin coated .500 4fl .031 corner rad endmill .750loc. Since we mostly cut aluminum and plastics here stainless is a little nerve racking. Would anyone be willing to chime in on some cutting parameters to get this job done I would be greatfull. (machine limited to 10,000 rpm 200.ipm) Thank You...
  16. EazyE

    MAX DEPTH

How about a negative number in the stock to leave...
  17. EazyE

    MAX DEPTH

There is more than one thing that could cause this is your top of stock really Z0. if you analyze a position at the top and its .278 from zero then it will add the 3.1 to the zero point.
  18. Well maybe I should leave it.. This machine has a serial number in the low 4,000's its a couple years old..
  19. Although it has happened once or twice before with no explanation since starting over an hour ago it has not stopped again.. Colin, I will bump that up a bit where this program is not as intricate as others it sounds like it could help anyway... Thanks for your input
  20. Sometimes I have trouble getting the same results you are looking for. The only solution I have found is to create separate ops.. If you come across another method please post it up here... Good luck
  21. try checking optimize cut order.. If that does not get you close then copy the ops and use seperate containment boundaries for each..
  22. Colin I am currently at 9600. the cable is 6ft only using 3ft so 3 is wound and tied. It is shielded running on a older dell with windows 2000.
  23. Rob thanks I will also give that a try.. It must be the drip I restarted the program without changing anything and going on 30 min without a problem.
  24. Thanks Eric. looks allot better almost a mirror. what would you recmnd for speed/feed for finishing like this. I have 10000 rpm but machine gets a little jerky around 120-150 ipm.. so at 100. would be a good place but not sure of the rpm
  25. Robert i think the only way to change a icon for a dll is to create a shortcut for the dll in question then right click the shortcut and there is a button for change icon. then you will have to remap the toolbar button to call from the shortcut instead of the root... HTH
