Would it be beneficial to add 3d to our mastercam to generate paths to do this and what geometry does it understand as far as doing undercuts.

Ya we are using X5 now I may have programmed the rough & finish separetly I'm not sure now I'll have to wait till it comes up again and try it together and see if the speed changes.

WE try to run at a constant surface speed all the time on one of the lathes. But Mastercam sticks a finishing speed in where i don't want it,it didn't ask me for a change in the prameters.Does anyone know a way around this would be much appreciated Thanks

How do I access multiple or partial chains from the grooving toopaths options.
When we changed from X2 to X3 the post started screwing up my programs,has anyone else had this problem and if so wat did you do to correct it.Thanks Tom
ie.it puts block #'s in random places
and adds an S & U on the first line of co-ordinates in the canned cycle.
Our Engineers are not puting chamfers on the models to protect the threads leaving it up to our discretion.What is the best way to chamfer all these different kinds of threads.Thanks Canuk
