  1. Woops, yep should have been GB. It can get kind of frustrating when you get several toolpaths done while you're waiting for it to regen, & then it crashes.
  2. WCS & Stock Model are awesome. I couldn't even imagine going back to not using them. One problem I have run into with stock model is that on larger parts with lots of operations, it takes forever & a day to regenerate the stock model, & quite often crashes. Is this something that upgrading the memory on my computer would speed up? I've only got 8mb ram. Smaller parts it's not an issue on.
  3. I have found that those holders, particularly the smaller diameters, will wear out over time. But using a torch on them is a big no-no. Use the machine, granted it is a little slower, the holders will last longer.
  4. When setting tools on a 1-2-3 or gage block, move block out of the way, lower spindle, push block against cutter, raise spindle in .0001" until block slides under. I see more people rapid down on top of whatever they are setting tools with...
  5. That's called "flydicating". When you are such a bada$$ machinist that you save time by indicating stuff on the fly . I had a leadman years back that did 3 indicators that way in the 8 years I worked with him, he even got one of mine once. We teased him mercilessly about that.
  6. Info is in Machinists Handbook, but vardex has a free thread mill calculator you can download http://www.vargus.co...t.aspx?pCatId=9 BTW, I haven't actually used that vargus thing, just saw it & downloaded it thinking it might be handy.
  7. Try selecting all the operations, hold your cursor over the toolpath group, right click, select "Edit selected operations", select "Change NC file name", when that box pops up just hit the green checkmark. I get that sometimes when I go back & add an operation to a toolpath group that I have already posted. Usually when it does it, it will post but not all together.
  8. Glad to see that it isn't just me..... Had mine all straightened out & then reloaded X6, screwed everything up all over again. It's easier to fix the second time around.
  9. I've got the same issue, not sure what to do about it?
  10. Anyone find an answer to this?? I'm getting the exact same message. Thanks.
  11. How deep are the holes? Have you tried peck-tapping? Also check your coolant mixture.
  12. Definitely seems to do it when you click on tool. It's done it on me when I'm positive I didn't click on it though. Tool numbers is another one that screws up on me sometimes. My workaround has been to create an X+ setup sheet right before I actually post a program. I have it set to show doc, stepover, etc. Just scan that & make sure it looks good, then post.
