  1. Try cc_pos$ instead of cc_poss$, should get rid of the invalid variable error.
  2. We keep all our posts,CD's,MD's and tools in a network folder \\blah\blah\blah\blah\blah\CNC\MCAMX6 I have the CNC folder mapped as R:, so I access them with R:\MCAMX6, added a sub-folder R:\Temp, and then pointed my Windows7 Temp environment variable to R:\Temp instead of my local harddisk. Now I can edit the control def without problems. Luckily I am the only one allowed to mess with the post/CD/MD. Unlike "imac5" I did not change my temp folder in mastercam to the network because I thought I might start running into problems with large regens and such. That may or may not be true as I have not tried it. I have not run into any other problems this way with MC or any other windows software so far.
  3. Cannon, I changed my temp environment variable to the network drive where my post and machine/control files are located and all works fine, no more control-6.tmp files (problem with mine was that the file size was changing too so I couldn't just rename them). A lot easier than running around to all the xp-32, xp-64, win7-32 and win7-64 machines everytime there's some kind of change to the system.
  4. Roger, Have there been any more thoughts on this or is the only fix to have the control file on the local harddrive? Thanks
  5. Good Morning All, Is there a way to have the NC file automatically saved to the same directory as the initial MCX-6 file? (which already goes automatically to the DWG file location) and with a slight twist, I would like to automatically save the MCX file as a DXF as well after posting (using ppost I assume)? Any help? Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks Mick, I've actually been using your "Make Cabinet Part" to work out the drawing of the entities but where I'm stuck is the "ChainAll" in "Toolpath Door". I would rather eg.. create the line, apply a toolpath to it, clear all selections, create another line...... it would work out better for me than to draw all the lines on seperate levels and select them that way. Am I making any sense or am I too far gone. I also remember seeing a script that called out a tool by name but can't locate any more. Thanks again.
  7. I seem to have lost my thinking cap. Could somebody tell me how to create a rectangle/line in VBScript and then apply a contour toolpath around it using: depth cuts and/or multipasses, cutter compensation, named tool from library,... I would then move on to drawing more lines, applying more toolpaths and so on. I only want to select/chain/toolpath one geometry at a time. Thanks in advance and HAPPY MONDAY!
  8. Can we get a confirmation that this is being addressed in X4 MU1?
  9. Hi Roger, Thanks for the quick response. It does allow me to go through the motions but fails on Build. Error - Can't open mastercam.lib. I'm not at my own computer now but I'll try the registry edit later. Editing the .vsz file did get me past the "can't find default.js or default.vbs" file error.
  10. HEEEEEEEEEEELP! It's been days now but I still can't get it right. I have Visual Studio 2005 Pro installed on my D: drive as well as Mastercam X3 (D:mcamx). When I installed the SDK it seemed to put everything where it was supposed to (D:mcamxsdk....) and the ChookWizard correctly into the Visual Studio folders. If I try to create a new chook using the wizard it says "default.js or default.vbs not found" but it shows "C:Program FilesVisual Studio 8.....)?. I found that the file "D:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8VCvcprojectsMFCCHookWizard.vsz" was hardcoded with a "C:mcamx..." path, changed it to D: and now I get a different error message about not finding the "D:mcamxsdk... maybe you have a registry error". Can anyone give me a list on which files should be located where and are there any other files that may be hard coded for the "DEFAULT" installation directory of C:mcamx. Thanks for listening, hope to hear from anyone soon.
