Any thoughts on the best method for tapping A286? Our Tapping guy seems to thinks roll tapping is the approach we should use. I've got some OSG roll taps coming in to try.
Any thoughts on what would make 17-4 ss oxidize? The surface in question was wire edm'ed, and passivated. The rest of the part was solid film lubed. This face was omitted from that treatment. Could the platers used a cleaning chemical to cause the surface to react? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I have a 1/2-20 UNJF-3B thread to make. I've been reading specs all morning and from what I can tell a UNF and UNJF thread are the same for an internal hole. With the exception of the UNJF having a slightly larger minor dia. So I should be able to use a 60 deg single point threading tool without issue. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
I'm currious how people control their programs once they are proved out? Do you lock the operators out of the control all together, or do you allow operators to make changes and upload back to the DNC?
Yeah thats a good point. Well i couldn't get the file to load anyways so at this point its a non issue. I'm not sure if our M32 controls has the EIA/ISO option?
Thats great. I wrote a little test program using the MPMaster post and will test it out tomorrow. Its a bit tough not having a working program to compare it to.
