Makino is by far and away has the best 5 axis packages available. From the Mag series to the D500 trunions we have them all and I have been very impressed.
Jay,
It appears to me that you don't have a computer that thing is a frickin' tractor!
I had a sneaky suspicion that my computer (if I can call it that now) was not up to par. Even though I'm running 64 bit I still feel inadequate.
I just got windows 7 put on this thing last month. Guy next to me had been running XP.
Now.... how do I convince the powers that be to get me a computer that is "worthy"?
The catia guys are running about the same computer that I am.
I normally work on larger files. I tend to experience that when my file size gets above 50 megs Mastercam seems to slow down when trying to complete tasks.
Is anybody else exeperiencing this?
How do I get better performance?
Since it started here as well.
Funny I type in my email and they never get back with me....
I have been thinking about starting a website with the funny things I have put into the comments over time. Due to the fact that I have never heard from anybody it allows me to vent.
I have had issues with the Haas Control and Mastercam with trunion applications in the past. My problems were mainly when I was making swarf type cuts. The trunion would get lost and not know what side of the "wall" it was supposed to be on. I did a lot of research on this and found a lot of different work arounds. Never had a whole lot of success. I'm now programming a Makino D500 with absolutely zero of the problems I had with the Haas.
I think we need to come up with a new process for benchmarking our computers. The current process was excellent for past software and hardware.
Anybody got any suggestions?
