  1. You could also use the create curves flowline to minize the number of function you use Usually in this function you select your cylinder, flip the direction and change chord height to number and choose 4 or more. then you still need to create the vector line. The only thing with that is that you do not have the actual depth of your hole like you usually have with the un-trim method
  2. I would personally use the WCS instead of having 4 different files if I have 4 setups. Lets say you want to machine the top and the bottom of your part. Position your part correctly to machine the top. (you can use Xform move to origin command) Make all the toolpaths you need for that setup. Right-click in the operation manager on machine group-1: Groups/new toolpath groups Go into Wcs/view manager 9bottom right of the screen) Select the Bottom plane and click on the Equal sign you will find on the right of the view mgr accept. now if you go into ISO view you will notice that your part is flipped Go back into the view mgr and change the position of the origin by using the white arrow button near the xyz coordinates (bottom right of the view mgr) you will need to click where you want the origin of that setup to be Make all the toolpath you want to machine the Bottom when you post select only the operations that use on the same plane. Make sure that on the machine you flip you part according to mastercam rotation which is a 180 deg rotation around the Y axis and not around the X Using this feature will prevent you from having either duplicates in the same file or multiple files for the same part. Obviously there is lot more you can do with the planes and the WCS. If you want, in the level mgr you can right-click/save named level. Then on a new part you could go in the lvl mgr and right-click/get named level to import all your level name to save up on time.
  3. To transfer geometry from lvl to lvl: Select your geometry Right-Click on level at the bottom of your screen choose either move or copy uncheck use main level and put any new # you want and it will copy or transfer geometry to that level
  4. If I understood correctly what you want here is something you can do: Go into setting/machine def mgr from there go into the control def mgr using the edit the control definition button go in files and change the default ops library to a library on your server and it should take that library by default so now if you go into import or export in the ops mgr you should be in the default library folder. you have to do this for all of your machines
  5. Go in toolpath/tool manager in the bottom open your tool library select the tools you want to copy and move them up using the arrows click on the create a new tool library button and use the arrows on the side again to transfer the tools back down
  6. I would say that it is partially fixed. Now in X5 we have what we can call tool assemblies. Once you've assigned a holder to a specific tool it will stick to the tool for this mastercam file. Also if you change your holder in an operation, you will have the option to update all assemblies at the same time.
  7. X5 whats new. help / whats new / design enhancements / Entering quick arc diameter
  8. Usually peel mill needs to be open on both sides of the slot. My guess would be on trimming the wall to shorten the slot so it doesn't crashes in the dead end. And then do a finish pass in a separate contour operation
  9. If you use Machine simulation yes you can. Regular Verify wont let you from what I know
  10. Activate depth (without activating diameter), click on the arrow and go get your arc. It will get the right depth. Then activate diameter and go reselect your arc it will work. I guess it's a bug
  11. faster way: go in your machine group properties -files in operation defaults you can edit by clicking the exclamation mark now in tool settings you can put any default you want.
  12. Instead of double clicking you can right-click in the field and then hit esc or click just outside the field and it will highlight everything
  13. Just sort your folder by date modified and then move all the old files to a new folder if you want to separate them
  14. select your jpeg. adjust your black and white. accept. smooths all. depending on the complexity of the jpeg it should be not that bad. if not I think Photoshop or Illustrator can do the job and you can open postscript files in Mcam so it should not cause any problem opening these files
  15. Ras2Vec.dll from the c-hooks in mastercam
