  1. I just installed 2018 yesterday on a few of our computers here. Two of of three I am having issues with. Mastercam is opening on it's own, it even was during the update process. I would start it, close down the program and have to pay close attention. Sure enough it would start opening itself and I had to quickly stop it (or the update would fail). I did end up getting all of the updates completed, but the start up issue never stopped. Even when I am working inside of an instance a second would start up. I searched around and on here I came across another person having a similar issue. Another member suggested to "Kill the Mastercam event logger". And the person said it worked via removing the even log .xml file. My issue I have no idea exactly how to do that (I can not find the file), and I am hoping someone else here has had the same problem. The two computers have different hardware, but both are running on fully updated Windows 10. Thank you!
  2. There are two quirks I am trying to figure out in Mastercam 2017. I was curious if you could add areas to the "open (under file)" listing? Right now it shows Recent Documents and Computer. I would love to have my mapped "Z" drive in that list. Right now I am having to go to computer, browse, then open the Z drive. Secondly, every time I save a file the naming box says "T". Each time I have to delete it before I can name a file. I noticed in the Configuration/Start Exit menu a box that says "default mastercam file name" it includes "T". I deleted it thinking I would have a blank area to type in, but I can not get it to go away. I appreciate the help!
  3. Thanks Mikron! He is able to do that but is increasingly getting annoying. I do know its real and I can imagine its annoying. But I suspected at first it might be something MC does at it's always been "quirky". But now I am trying to search around on what else could cause that problem. Graphics cards can do some weird crap, its kind of mind boggling that they randomly can cause issues with non "Graphical" situations. But I know they can. I think that PC is running a FirePro V3750 which is an aging card for sure. But I don't think right now the company will jump to a new one atm. /shrug Thanks again, guess it's time to go back to the drawing board (heh).

  5. Ya I had a feeling there was nothing that could cause this. I don't see any hardware causing that issue either. Yes I had him start saving locally, it still does it randomly. I will say I have had a lot of frustrations with Mastercam and Solidworks over the years, but have always ironed them out. This is really weird. Thanks for responding! I can not find anyone having the issue, in Mastercam or with another Windows program.
  6. Ya that would be me... lol And I am at a complete loss on what to do. Nothing abnormal is running and the PC is clean. I am being hounded by our main designer on the annoyance. I am guessing at this point now that I have ran out of idea's that it could be caused by Mastercam itself? Perhaps some kind of setting?
  7. I am not sure where to post my question here, but I am really in need of help! I have a weird thing going on and I can not figure out how to fix it. Searching the web I am coming up empty handed as well. I figured you guys might have some idea on whats going on. So when I work in a file and make changes I go to save it using the "save as" dialog so I can name it something new. When I do that everything seems fine and I am able to type in the file name that I want. For instance "newdesigna" , once I hit save I am unable to locate it as it ends up saving it as "esigna" for example. The crazy thing is it does not do this all of the time. I would say 25% of the time, maybe more. But it's absolutely annoying. At first I thought maybe it was due to saving it through the network to our file server. So I switched to saving things locally and then it still screwed up. I am using Windows 10, and Mastercam 2017. Has anyone else heard of this issue, and if so any ideas on whats going on? Thanks for the help!
  8. Nice, I was hoping this was something I could fix. I got the manager of the toolshop swearing to me that the computer should not be having these messages. And its my fault the computer is screwing up.
  9. Hi Guys, I am fairly new to Mastercam and have a brand new workstation with Windows 7 64bit. I have been running into a few weird errors that I am trying to iron out but have been fairly stuck. I saved a screen shot of my last error, if anyone could help me out with how to make it stop I would appreciate it. Error Message
