  1. There were 3 groups, I deleted and saved. No Joy!!!
  2. where is the groups manager I'll give it a shot?
  3. SO NOTHING WORKS. I have removed hidden entities and deleted everything from the file and resaved and it still grows, with absolutely nothing in it lol.... Model prep - remove history - save some - parasolid - open new file - import parasolid file - save as mastercam file. Then I have a clean file...... Back to old file, export toolpaths - save them someplace, back to new file - import toolpaths - start playing connect the dots. File now saves at 10,000KB..... Sip coffee - contemplate life choices that got me here - accept the fact FML - move on... Thats my process for saving these files... So originally I thought it was the Catia files that are converted to STP, But more often then not its models that I built and Model prepped in Master cam that do it.... I probably abuse Model prep more than I should in fixture design....
  4. got one that broke my server today..... 1,480,000 KB exported all the geometry to a Parasolid and started a new file 6800KB. What in the actual Heck is happening here. Hours of time gone. FML!
  5. I like it better than 2021 but I agree that 19 was pretty solid. 2020 and 2021 were a challenge, but going from 2021 to 2022 I find it much better, yes they changed some things that I haven't wanted to get used to yet, but that's how it goes.
  6. FUNNY THOUGH, When this happened to me in 2021 I was Lost but when I open those files in 2022 and save them as a 2022 file it cleans them right up.... Maybe when 2023 drops you can save your 2022 files
  7. It wont matter even if you find the corrupt solid it wont fix the file....
  8. Been there done that, worked with QC they acted shocked!!!! Started happening in 2021, way less problems with 2022 but it happens. I have deleted everything including machine group and still 200+KB.... So far the biggest one we have in the shop is 620,000 KB. Its now a competition..... So my work around is after you are done designing and model preping everything, save all of your solids as a parasolid. Then open a new file and drag it over... Will drop to like 4k or what ever it should be... Then start toolpathing and your fine.. If you allready have toolpaths you are hoping to save you are Effed!!!! That 600000KB file we have takes 25 minutes to open... lol Edit: I have a bolt that I downloaded from Carr-Lane that is like a 160,000 KB, when u delete it and save it the file grows even bigger... An empty file. I could share it if someone wants to see how messed up it is, but I fear it might infect your system with what ever problem it is we have over here
  9. Speaking of tool manager is their a way to make actual tool lists within the tool manager program? I feel like it should be able to do it
  10. Honestly All the videos you guys have been making are the best thing mastercam has done for the end user well ever! Thanks for taking the time and keep up the good work. They should link these videos in the help manager So when you click help looking for a deeper understanding of filters and tolerances, these videos are there...
  11. if you are using solid selection try incremental and set to zero see what that does for you. If u want break through add tip comp
  12. used to work in a shop that was around since the 60's. They wanted everything programmed in control and to the print, reason being operators could adjust programs on the fly. I realized very early on the only thing I hate more than Control comp, was operators making changes to my programs!!!!!
  13. what does the stock model you are using look like?
  14. SO USING THOSE SWITCHES IS DIFFERENT FROM THIS ONE?
  15. good to know, ive always been scared.. Thanks for the clarification..
  16. AAron if using center mode you would need to set your tool up in the machine to center aswell right? so if using a 1/2 ball you would have to modify your tool length to match the center point of your tool radius? I ask because I never have used CenterPoint for that reason but my thinking might be wrong?
  17. So an additional issue. Worst part is I can not tell you how much I have used this toolpath in the last year and honestly never realized this was happening tell my operator came in and was like hey why is the spindle rpm so low!!
  18. Now how do we fix it... lol
  19. Doing multiple helix bores in one toolpath, and using a circle at bottom to finish each bore. I set the speeds at 50% feed and 75% rpm. Thing is when posting with a MPmaster after it drops the RPM at the bottom of the first hole it never kicks back up for the next hole. Anyone else seeing this or am I doing something wrong? Edit: using 2021 mastercam and even downloaded the 2021 MPmaster to confirm
  20. Colin is the Man! Hes always going out his way to help. I feel CNC Software should have him on Royalties!!!!!
  21. Oh that makes since, Then Yes I agree, Our MTB has done very little to set us up for success... The more I learn The more I despise Fanuc aswell, in General. I feel like the boss goes on the hook for these Million dollar machine centers, You get no help from the MTB, Very Little help from the sales People, and reduced functionality from the Fanuc People.
  22. What Look ahead and values do you recommend? I have been using G05.1 R5 for most tests code thrown at the machine, Our original post was set up to output G05 P10000 and that is all it output, the new postability post gives me options, the Mori book is surprisingly vague on which look ahead work best in any given situation. The big yellow book gives me the same kind of headache, I have only been using the new post on one machine so far, because we had to modify a few parameters related to G43.4... parameter 19754.5 mainly. Originally the machine had to return to B0, C0 in-between 5 axis moves, So I am playing with the new post with one machine designated as my test mule. I understand the precision differences in the look ahead and what they can do for me, but still trying to seek information regarding G05 vs. G08 vs. G05.1. Any help with that would be appreciated. I do hate to thread Jack here, or break up a good Chuckle at my expense but in all honesty sometimes I feel like the Mori guys that are out here on the regular know less about these machines than I do and that scares the hell out of me. If this is a learning opportunity I'm all to happy to swallow my pride and ask for some help. What is MTB world? I've been on here for a decade and I'm starting to see lingo I don't know. Do we have a secret language now like Wall Street Bets? LOL
  23. Just ripped out a quick path for the OP to show him an example of the D value. I never 5 axis threadmill so all of my defaults have not been set or saved for that path. The post lets me set look ahead to what ever I want/need in misc values I honestly can not tell if you guys are bashing me over this or if I am truly missing something. If I am missing something Please help me out..
  24. Our old post did stuff like that, but our New Postability post gives us this N284 T284 M6 (T284 0.138 10-24 TREADMILL CARMEX MTS0250C42 24 UN) (THREAD 1/4-20 HOLES) (OPERATION NO - 20) (OPERATION TYPE - THREADMILL) G54 G08 P1 G90 G00 B0. C0. S5536 M03 G43.4 H284 X-8.4788 Y.6615 Z9.0249 M8 Z7.1249 G01 G42.2 D284 Z7.0603 F16.61 Y.6695 X-8.4928 Y.6615 X-8.4941 Y.6646 Z7.0593 X-8.4948 Y.6679 Z7.0582 Y.6712 Z7.0572 X-8.4941 Y.6745 Z7.0561 X-8.4927 Y.6776 Z7.0551 X-8.4907 Y.6803 Z7.0541 X-8.4882 Y.6825 Z7.053 Which works fine in the Mori's, that being said I hate 5 axis thread milling because of the linearization of the code. It just starts to get bulky, So depending on the situation I would just asoon use a plane and then treadmill in 3+2. But to answer your original question our post with Mcam 2021 outputs a D value
