Hi Everyone,
I am having trouble creating the type on code that I am looking for. I have Mastercam 2018 and one or more of the triggers is set wrong.
I trying to engrave part numbers on a cylinder that is 3.989 in diameter and 8.5 tall. The part is on X zero and I would like to engrave the part in the Y axis while rotating about the B axis.
The machine is a Makino A51 with a Pro 5 controller. Also is there a way to convert the number splines to arcs so I can reduce the size of the program.
Thank You for any help and advice.
John
Hi, I just started using Mastercam again after 9 years and they moved all the buttons around. My boss wants me to engrave letters on a 3.9 dia. cylinder and I cannot find my way around. Any help would be great!
Thanks, John King
I am thinking about starting a up a hobby for when I retire. Looking into buying a 4 axis cnc router with a 4'x4' table. Has anyone had any experience with Industrial CNC.

Thanks for your help!

1) Is it possible to turn with a multi-directional groove tool with dissimilar corner radius?
2) When X3 is released will the stock recognition for the lathe part of Mastercam have any enchantments?
Hi Forum,
Does anyone know how to set up a Maxim500 post to output a "K" value for helical interpolation?
Where the "K" would be the rise in "Z". Cincinnati 500 controllers use, K=360 div by angle of distance traveled, multiplied by the rise in Z.
The posted program should look something like this:
G03 X-1.047 Y-5.555 Z-1.305 I2.9338 J-6.4917 K5.435.
Thanks for your help!
John
I do not do this very often, but normally when you are breaking splines to arcs what do you set your error to?
I was writing a program yesterday and it was getting so big I could not load all of it into the machine.
I figured the smaller the error the better the profile. The tolerance I have is .004 profile of a surface.
Thanks,
John
Mastercam X MR2
Gcode,
I was told that Design LT was to have the same functionality as draft was in previous versions. Some of us can not afford to buy seats of Mastercam X and do all of our work in draft, then post code in Mastercam X using the Hasp.
PS: We only have one Hasp which the engineering dept. shares.
Regards,
John
