Hi all, it has been a long time since I have asked a question here. I tried to do a search and I did not come up with what I was looking for. So, I hope someone can help.
I am looking for a 1 page setup sheet with a picture of the part I am cutting and my list of tools. The one I used before was in "X+" But I guess it is not available anymore.
Any info would be helpful...
Thanks, Lou
I am updateing every mold I work on in Catia so we have a true representation of math data to what is on the shop floor and I will be uploading to Smart Team also. Plus still doing all the programming. These are good computers but we want to get the top of the line with the budget...
Hi all!! I am looking for all of your infinite wisdom!!
I am getting a new computer soon. I am currently running Mastercam X5 and Catia V5.
The New computer I am looking at is:
Dell T7500
Zeon 6 Core 3.4g processer
24 gigs of ram.
Right now the Catia guys are recommending a ATI Firepro 4800
My Question is: What Graphics card plays well with Mastercam?
I have about a $6000 budget to do this…..What Would be your dream machine???
You must be talking about the old Omega. The new Omega doesnt care about anything but the almighty dollar...its good you found a place that cares about its people. They are hard to find now a days.....
Hello All,
I have Mastercam X2 MR1. I have 10 design seats and 5 Mill seats that are on a NetHasp on my server. I am looking into working from home once in awhile and log into my company through the terminal server. Can I use one of the licenses logged in from home?
Thank you for all and any input…. Lou
I think what you are looking for is under Machine types menu. Then control definitions and inside of that you will fine all of your operation defalts.
Hope this helps...
Hi All,
This might be a easy question, But I cant find this...
In 9 I was able to backplot and get my cutting time. I dont see this in X
Can anyone point me in the right direction???
Thanks in advanance!!
Hey Carl,
I did try to download the latest drivers from Aladdin Software and it did install with no problem, but still can not get the computer to see the hasp. The thing that KILLS me is that the local hasp was working before I messed with the nethasp.....
Again....Thanks for all of your input!!!!!!
I did read that and I understand that. Just that everything works with nethasp turned on but when the local is turned on then it dont work. That will be my workaround for now but I hope to find a way to keep my local hasp for sentimental reasons :-)
Thanks for all the input, Lou
I just got a new 64bit dual core computer with XP64 on it (I know this is not recommended) and I installed Mastercam 9 and X on it. At first it was working fine with my new hasp that I just got from sim swap. I also wanted to get the nethasp working on my computer and I had to install the new license manager on the server and got it working with that. Now when I switched my nhasp9.exe back to my local machine it tells me HASP NOT FOUND.
I searched the forum to find out if anyone else is having this problem. I did download and install the latest drivers from Mastercam.com and Aladdin.com (Aladdin had a 64bit driver for the haspHL.) and it will still not see the hasp!!
The thing that bugs the crap out of me is that everything works fine on the nethasp but not on the local hasp.
ANY help will be very much appreciated!!!!!!!
Thanks, Lou
THANK YOU ALL!!!!! It is now fixed. There were 2 areas that had the same code in it. I was changing the wrong area.
Hats off to everyone that helps out on this forum. These are the trying times when I am glad there is someone to lean on to help through the problems.
Here is the final code that makes (atleast my machines) work.
ptap #Canned Tap Cycle
pdrlcommonb
#RH/LH based on spindle direction
if use_pitch, pbld, n, "G95", e
if use_pitch = 0,
[
n, "G05P0", e # Cancel G8/G5
n, *sm05, e # Force Turn Off Spindle
n, "M135", e # Set Rigid Tapping Active
pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout,
prdrlout, dwell, *feed, strcantext, e
]
else,
[
if met_tool, pitch = n_tap_thds # Tap pitch (mm per thread)
else, pitch = 1/n_tap_thds # Tap pitch (inches per thread)
pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout,
prdrlout, *pitch, !feed, strcantext, e
]
pcom_movea
tapflg = 1
I tried to copy and paste this into the post and got the same thing??? It seems like you should be able to turn that off just for the tap cycle??????
anymore Ideas??????
I keep forgetting to type this in......
I am using MPFAN-MAKINO-SGI.PST it was supplied to me by the people who sold us the machine. Everything works great but the tapping cycle.
Ahh, Thank You. ok, I have been known to make things complicated My wife would be the first to tell you that.
The last entry of Mayday's fix the errors but did not post out the M135. I just made the change that Chris asked me to try and it worked.
Now....... I think I have to change one more thing for this to work. My post is still putting out the P10000 for SGI mode and I dont think I can have that during a tap cycle.
This is what I am getting now.....

Thanks again for all the input
I am posting to a Makino S56 w/ a fanuc control and it need the M135 in the post I have been putting it in manualy but once in awhile I forget. and break a tap.
So far the line that Mayday told me to add in worked now I am getting another error. Variable not defined: tapflg maybe I dont need it or is there another user def. I have to put in. I beleive I will have the same problem with "pitch="
Here is what I have so far..Again THANK YOU for the help!!!!
ptap #Canned Tap Cycle
pdrlcommonb
#RH/LH based on spindle direction
if use_pitch, pbld, n, "G95", e
if use_pitch = 0,
[
n, *sm05, e
n, "M29", *speed, e
pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout, *peck1,
prdrlout, dwell, *feed, strcantext, e
]
else,
[
if met_tool, pitch = n_tap_thds # Tap pitch (mm per thread)
else, pitch = 1/n_tap_thds # Tap pitch (inches per thread)
n, *sm05, e # Force Turn Off Spindle
n, "M135", *speed, e # Set Rigid Tapping Active
pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout,
prdrlout, *peck1, *pitch, !feed, strcantext, e
]
pcom_movea
tapflg = 1
My post does not output the M135 automaticly so I searched for a thread on this and found.
Thread
Now I get an error "Variable not defined: use_pitch"
Can anyone tell me why????
Thanks in advance, Lou
Has anyone tried to use this?????? It looks very cool and I am intrested in it. We do have Pro/E here now I am just wondering if this is a more cost effective route to take if we add more seats. We already own 18 seats of mastercam and only 3 seats of Pro/E.
Thank You for any feedback!!!
