  1. You can Call your datums on your control. You can call any loaded program for any datum. In this case the loaded program is the same for the first three datum then calls a different program for the last three datums. So simple to scroll down on the control and enter four numbers after the M98P....all you need is the M99 on the last line of your posted program instead of the M30. O1(PROGRAM CALL); (6 datums 54,55,56,57,58,59); G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G54M105; example G0G90G54.1M105: on most fanuc controls highlight the item to ALTER type the ALTER information press ALTER G05P0; M98P1111; M01; M5; G90; G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G55M105; G05P0; M98P1111; M01; M5; G90; G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G56M105; G05P0; M98P1111; M01; G90; G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G57M105; G05P0; M98P2222; M01; M5; G90; G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G58M105; G05P0; M98P2222; M01; M5; G90; G0G91G28Z0; G28X0Y0; G0G90G59M105; G05P0; M98P2222; M01; M5; G05P0; G0G91G28Z0.0M115; G28X0.0Y0.0; T14M6; G0X2.5Y-2.5Z-2.5; M84; G49; G90; M30; O1111 (added three contour paths) N1G20 N2G00G17G40G80G94G90 N3T14M06(0.249 FLAT ENDMILL) N4G00G17G90X-1.2001Y.2786S20000M03 N5G43H14Z.25 N6M83 N7G94 N8G05P10000 ... 3. Thank You Jay: I like the part regarding the labeling of the levels in WCS It's going to take some practice.
  4. Wow. That would be great. Thanks. Where should i send it?
  5. Absolutely, Jay. X is able to handle the larger files much better than before. So, you're saying trust the WCS. It is a lot to wrap my head around. All views being labled as top. Opens up a new can for datums as well, ie corners vs middle... It's easier to pick corners on the cad a lot harder to dial in a corner with an indicator. Thanks
  6. Thank you. I could use a class just for WCS from a mold maker to learn how to identify each face properly and efficiently. As well as a new computer with windows 7 and then X6 will run. I find that the levels seem to be associated to the machine definition. The graphics will adjust, not change, adjust, when moving from one machine def to a previous one, again sometimes...Could be the same machine only a separate set of operations, ie bottom insert, top insert..?
  7. I'm still using X4 and have noticed this issue for years now all the way back to V8 and through several different computers. Once I have separated and labeled my mold components to levels as well as the wireframe and surfaces accordingly. I Rotate the part to the top view for machining, old school. Every once in a while there are several entities that stay behind in the Rotated move. Ie: rotate, all, wireframe, 180. I thought this was due to the file not being saved and on previous versions i believe this to be the case. Now, the only cure i can find is to exit Mastercam completely, thereby forcing a complete save (if needed). Also it seems the save icon only saves the NCI file? If you have had this phenomenon happen to you please share your findings... hardware, software, settings, procedure...
  8. That did it my bad Sc
  9. I'm one of the guys caught with the first x6 version. So, I uninstalled it, notice little pieces hanging around in the documents folder and deleted those as well. I now have the latest and greatest disk and x6 is installed and it only flashes on the monitor for about a half second, never to be seen again. I've noticed that "my mcamx6" does not exist in my documents folder.
  10. Paul If I can`t cut it I`ll burn it. I can easily cut an electrode .300 of an inch and if you really want a shinny finish I`ll try to skim over the edm surface with diamond coated endmill or just have it eletro polished. [email protected]
  11. The red cicle with the line through it near the bottom of the chaining window is for unselect. Never use it. I always change the colour of the chain, chances are I'll need to select it more than once. ie pocket, contour...or as a surface containment boundary. sc
  12. For concentricity I have had to slow the feed rate way down to allow the stepping motors to keep up. I also neck the cutter(grind the cutter back) so only a small cuting land (.15-.25")is in contact with to material to reduce load. There's always the old fashion way of using a boring head and cutting from the outside to the inside(turn the bit to the inside) center and feed down. Sc
  13. Newbie here: How do you get the nice graphics window added to your posting?? Sc
  14. I've had a similar experiance using 2d pocket with a visit to the laser welder. My question is what do splines have to do it?? sc
